The sun beamed down on a small patch of fire strangled in green.
It was Naruto Uzumaki taking a well deserved nap in the grass after training so hard hours prior. His long, lean body stretched out in the dirt relaxed and care-free. Drenched in sweat, from the harsh lights rays, woke him up as that foul order began to assemble.
He blink twice adjusting his sight to the ever bright light, then sat up taking in the fresh scenery. It was a Wednesday afternoon and that's when the street shops are the most busiest. You could hear people chattering down the flowered hill doing their evening shopping. A few birds flew past going home to their nest in the tall trees located outside the village walls.
Naruto took off his moist orange jacket throwing it across his broadening shoulders just as he began to get up off the ground. Taking one last good look at the town he started walking the opposite direction in which would in time, lead to his home.
He took the familiar path through the back woods since it was most peaceful and he could easily practice training without disturbing his neighbors. As he strolled along the dirt path he could spot out the trees he punched so hard that it left a stump in its place. Naruto smiled at the recent memory as his journey progressed.
Coming to stop, he now stood at the entrance of an alley that would lead straight towards his district. Not many people lived there beside him, since the incident that occurred the day he was born, people got the idea he was trouble and would cause mayhem throughout the village. Even as the years flew by, not everyone could learn to accept him as he was without digging up the past. Those people he hated the most yet at the same time intrigued by. He grew up with the idea to show them how great he was by becoming the top dog of the village so that way they would have no choice but to give him his overdue respect.
Unfortunately those plans were put on hold as he's been dealing with relationship issues. Actually his bestfriend, or so he thought, Sasuke Uchiha. They had this undefined rivalry that no one could understand except them. Sasuke left home not too long ago believing he couldn't find what he was looking for here unturned by his friends pleads to stay. Since then Naruto trained harder and pushed himself further to match Sasuke's level in order to bring him back where he belongs.
Walking up the steps that ran along the buildings edge, Naruto walked past a few doors before coming to his own on the other side. Pretending to stick a key in the door handle, he slowly opened it walking inside. He did this because his original door lock was pried off by some kids looking for trouble and didn't have money to replace it.
He flipped on the light throwing his jacket in the clothes hamper beside his sunken in couch that seen better days. "What's for dinner?" He pondered aloud flipping through cabinets for his next meal. "I guess ramen will have to do." He picked up a noodle packet and sauce pan setting it on the stove. Filling the pot with water and setting the dial to boil, he put the packed noodles into a bowl waiting for the water to bubble.
When it started to form steam, he removed the pot from the eye transporting the smoking liquid into the bowl so the noodles can soften.
Once everything was done and clean, he began to eat his common supper staring out the lone window by the kitchen table. The sun dropped rather quickly as the sky was a few shades darker but the heat still lingered. A couple kids ran past his building laughing and just having a good old time, a childhood only Naruto wished he could have experienced. Be as it may, there was still time since he was only fifteen just barely has what it takes to be an experienced adult.
He closed his eyes resting his head against the glass hearing all the outside sounds a little better. He thought back on the time he was with his god-father slash mentor Jiraiya and he was teaching him all these different techniques passed down from his father.
"Hold your hands like this." Jiraiya instructed holding his hands out front of him so Naruto could copy. "Now concentrate your chakra in your head. Think of many versions of you." He watched as Naruto strained to comply with his simple directions for creating a clone, a technique mastered by academy students at the age of twelve.
"I-I can't..." Naruto stuttered failing to hold his hand position and lost control of his mind. Jiraiya sighed taking in the boys form. He shook his head identifying the situation.
"No wonder, you're chakra control is terrible." Naruto glared at him red in embarrassment
"Well...it's hard believe it. I asked Sakura to help me but she said no." He crossed his arms sticking out his bottom lip. Sakura was a girl in his class who was the teachers favorite. She knew all the answers to the quizzes and test and had the best understanding of chakra control. Even the good for nothing Uchiha seeked out her assistance.
"Excuses, excuses. Come." Jiraiya walked off to the abandon bell temple sitting on its cracked steps. Naruto followed in pursuit sitting beside the old man looked out into the fields where they practiced. "You know why I like this place?" He questioned the air not looking directly to anybody.
Knowing he was talking to him Naruto answered, "Because its old like you?" That earned him a hardy laugh and a shake on the head.
"No. Because its peaceful and helps me gather my thoughts." Jiraiya grinned fingering his unusually long white messy hair. "And know one can witness a murder of a little boy." There that both cracked up at his empty gesture enjoying the less tense atmosphere.
"Would I ever be a worthy ruler if I can't even make a clone?" Naruto asked his voice in a serious tone. He looked up a Jiraiya anticipating his response. He knew all too well what the outcome would be.
Jiraiya stretched his arms behind his head cumulating up an answer. "Needless to say, do you feel that you physically can't or that you just haven't fully mastered it yet?" Naruto raised an eyebrow not sure how to comeback on that.
"They say your not a true man until you've created life. By that I mean a clone that can actually stand on its own two feet." With that Jiraiya stood up creating a clone of himself in a single poof proving his point.
"See." Standing there were two men looking identical to its partner. They both turned and began walking down the path that leads back up to civilization. "Come back next week to continue this lesson." With that they both disappeared into a sea of green.
