Hanna POV:
It's funny, you know. We were planning on having a sleepover at Ali's that very night. The night that we found Aria floating in the water. I still can't believe that only two weeks ago we pulled our best friend out of the water, dead. It haunts me every night, every single time I flutter my eyelids closed, and I know it will for a very long time.
I'm lying down on my mothers bed. I remember when I used to do this as a child. It was like my very own security blanket, bed style. I hear the all so familiar creak of the front door opening and realize my mums home.
"Hanna, are you home?"
"Yep I am here" I say, running down the stairs. "Do you need some help with those?" I ask as I grab half the shopping bags out of her hands.
"Yes thank you. Can you just put them over there please."
I bring the bags over to the kitchen and start unpacking. The very first thing I pull out is the evil yet so delicious three cheese macaroni. The kind with pieces of bacon threaded throughout the melted cheese.
"Oh mum-"
"Look Hanna, I know it has been a while since you have devoured this many calories in one meal but I thought a comfort meal would be wanted in this horrible situation you girls have been put in."
"Thanks mum." I say as I run past and give her a little kiss on the cheek.
I run from one side of the kitchen to the other where the microwave is. I open up the box and pull out the food. I don't even need to check how long to cook it for. It is imprinted in my brain from Hefty Hanna season. I would eat these every week. I'm not going back there again but like my mother said, you can enjoy something you love every now and again. I stand there watching the sachet of deliciousness cook for the next three minutes and thirty seconds. This has to be one of the most dramatic food events I have experienced in my life. I feel kind of silly but I continue watching anyway.
After I have eaten pretty much all of the macaroni, I throw the packet into bin and run back upstairs to get my my phone. I pick it up and then run back down and grab my bag.
"Where are you going Hanna?"
"Caleb is meeting me down at the park and then we are going to see how Emily is."
"Okay. Your a great friend Hanna. Even in times like these you still look out for your friends more than yourself." I smile.
"Bye mum."
I open the door to find Caleb standing there, handsome as ever. "Caleb? I thought I was meeting you at th-"
"Well, it turns out that I am hungrier than I thought I was. Can we go straight there?"
"Aha sure."
Spencer POV:
Melissa is due home in an hour and I still haven't cleaned up the den. I should do it now, but I honeslty can't be bothered. There is not often a time when I won't do something I am asked to do but lately I have just layed in my bed and ignored everybody. I see the screen of my phone light up. I reach over a pick it up. It's Toby. He is asking to come over. I could do with some company right now so I let him.
Within ten minutes, Toby is lying down next to me with a tissue in his hand, wiping away the tears flowing from my eyes. I had not allowed myself to cry infront of anybody and it was all building up inside of me. I let myself go infront of Toby. Every little thing that had happened in the last two weeks came out right then, and I suddenly felt better. Being in Toby's arms made me feel better, and I realised that rather than pushing everyone away, I needed to be surrounded by the ones I love.
