My Dad Dean

Good Morning

I woke up the next morning to find Ava in the living room watching the food network.

"Hey Ava, have you had breakfast yet?"

"No I haven't."

"Would you like me to get you something?"

"No I'm ok for now, thanks though."

I got myself a cup of coffee, and sat down next to Ava.

"I'm sorry to hear about your mom."

"Thanks, this life will get some getting use to."

"Yes it does, I'm just getting use to it now, and I've been with my dad for about 8ish months."

"Wow, so your still fairly new at this too. Did you know your dad before hand?"

"No I didn't, my mom got cancer, and we ran into them at a local diner. She told me to go with them because she did not want me to see her deteriorate."

"That's sad."

"It is sad. I miss my mom very much, she just passed about a month ago."

"I'm so sorry to here."

We continued to watch tv. Who knew that watching people cook and/or eat food was so entertaining. I have to give props to Ava, for some good taste in tv. Hopefully she has some good taste in music as well.

"What are you two ladies up to this morning?"

"Not much, Sammy. Are you going to make breakfast?  It is Saturday, and you normally make a yummy breakfast on Saturdays."

"I was planning on making breakfast.  Any requests?"

"No, the usual is great, thanks."

"What's the usual?"

"Pancakes, bacon, eggs, and home fries."

"That does sound yummy.  No complaints coming from me."

"Glad to hear that you approve."

I think it is nice to see that Sammy and Ava are getting along.  A couple of minutes later my dad joined us, just as Sammy was starting to cook.

My dad sat at the kitchen table and I moved to join him. Plus I got to watch uncle Sammy cook,  I like better than watching someone cooking on tv. A few minutes after I sat down by dad, Ava joined us at the table and watched her dad cook.

Just as breakfast was finished cooking, Bobby made an appearance.

"Good morning sleepy head," Sam said.

"Morning," Bobby sated still half asleep while reaching for the coffee. We all got up and dished ourselves up some food and returned to the table.

After breakfast Ava and I went out to the mall to do some Christmas shopping for the guys. I have Ava the gist of what they likes and told her to meet back up with me at the food court for noon. And extra time was needed on either end to send a text letting the other know.

I went around to many different stores shopping for everyone. For Ava I found her this cute outfit compromised of black distressed skinny jeans, a black and white striped 3/4 sleeve shirt, and a red leather jacket. I also got her some lotion and body sprays from Bath and Body Works. For my dad I found some nice flannel shirts, some classic rock cassette tapes, and a pie calendar. For Sammy I also found some flannel shirts, and got him some nice book. With Bobby I struggled with a bit, I did get the idea of getting him some alcohol, but I need to come back with my dad or Sammy in order to be able to purchase my gift for Bobby.

I met back up with Ava and we grabbed a quick lunch before heading back to Bobby's.
