At Huntersville High four friends were walking out of the school and down the sidewalk. These friends were named Brooklyn, Kassandra, Ryder, & Luke. They had been friends for years but they never really saw each other a lot over the summer. This was because their families wanted them to spend some time away from each other and it happened every year. For the friends, this year was going to be a lot different.
As they were walking out of school they started talking about what they were going to do for summer. Last summer they hadn't seen each other at all and they wanted this summer to be different. They went to Luke's house and started playing foosball while talking about the plans they had for summer.
"What are you guys going to do for the summer?" asked Luke while playing foosball.
"I don't know"replied Kassandra in a sweet tone,"what are you going to do?"
"I know what I'm going to do" smirked Brooklyn.
"What are you going to do?" Questioned Luke.
Brooklyn winked before saying, " Nothing."
Luke looked at Brooklyn in a sweet way then said,"We can always hang out."
"I'd love that." Brooklyn said.
The group glanced over at the couple in disbelief as they had started their own side-conversation. They knew they needed to figure this out but it seemed impossible because none of them had any ideas for what to do this summer.Then they decided to try and think of some things that they could possibly do.
"Guys,"Ryder started then continued, "we need to figure something out before the summers over."
"Yeah guys!" Kassandra shouted.
Brooklyn sighed before saying, "What do you think we should do?"
"We can go on a trip in our favorite rocket ship soaring through the sky!" sang Ryder.
Kassandra and Brooklyn shared exasperated looks before yelling in unison, "Stop singing that song!"
"Hey, we should do that" laughed Luke before saying,"If we actually had a rocket ship."
The room became silent besides the sound of Luke playing foosball with Ryder. They were all thinking of what they could possibly do for the summer. Then all of a sudden Brooklyn had an idea for the summer, what if they did a bucket list of the summer. Brooklyn thought about it for a while before announcing, "What if we did a bucket list of things to do before the summer's over."
They all looked at eachother after Brooklyn spoke, all of them not quite sure what the bucket list would involve. Luke and Ryder were particularly worried knowing how crazy Kassandra & Brooklyn could get before agreeing. "That would be awesome!" Luke spoke.
"Now we need some ideas for the list, they can't be too crazy" Brooklyn stated as she looked around at her friends.
"I have an idea," Ryder said before speaking his thoughts,"we need to put skydiving on the list" .
They voiced their agreement with each other before Kassandra spoke up, "Hey, what if we went surfboarding."
"Cool!" Luke cheered.
Brooklyn thought for a minute before saying, "That's two ideas so far, we're gonna need more."
"We just started listing ideas! It's gonna take time to come up with more." Kassandra exclaimed with a look of disbelief.
Ryder had a look of concentration, Luke noticed and spoke his thoughts, "Dude, what are you thinking?"
Ryder revealed, "I have an idea, we could sleep under the stars!"
The four friends agreed on Ryder's idea, they wouldn't admit it but they all want to try. Brooklyn looked on the computer and said,"Hey tonight you can see the star Sirius!"
Ryder sarcastically laughed before saying , "Yeah, because we all know what that looks like."
"It's in Orion's Belt & it's one of the brightest stars." Brooklyn stated giving Ryder a dead look.
Luke knew the two were going to argue if he didn't stop them. He sighed before yelling, "Alright! Let's just go and get pizza, we'll figure this out later."
The group walked out of Luke's House and began to walk towards Pizza 913. It was hangout spot of the town for teens and adults. Pizza 913 was were the group of friends spent most of their time together. They reached their destination and walked in to see the owner's. The owners were Ryder's parent which explained why they got free food there.
The waiter came over and took their orders so they could eat and then get going. The group continued chatting while they waited for their orders. After a while they received their food and quickly ate as they had plans tonight and they still had to pack. They finished eating then they waved goodbye to Ryder's parent before starting the trip back to Luke's house.
