"Ow!" Rustlekit hollered, having a sharp limb dug into his flank.  He turned his head to look at his littermate, Lilackit, who's elbow was wedged in his flank.  "Lilackit! What are you doing!" He hissed.

"Sorry, I'm just so excited I can't sleep! I just can't stop moving!" Lilackit explained, still fidgeting.

From behind her, came a brown tabby patched pelt.  "Don't worry Rustlekit, she woke me up too!" She purred.

"Oh! Sorry Spotkit!" Lilackit squeaked.

"It's oka-" Spotkit started to cough.

"Why are you so excited? We're not even allowed to leave camp, but your still bouncing around like a rabbit!" Rustlekit teased.

"Fernwhisper told they're extending the apprentices den for us! She told my that we'll be moving in, sometime this moon! And Dustcloud taught me how to caught prey already! She said, if I'm really good, she might take me outside of camp!" Lilackit squeaked. "Look at my Hunting Crouch!" She leaped up onto her paws, and started to do an unbalanced crouch, wiggling her haunches, she leaped off the ground as high as she could and landed on Spotkit. "Yum! A mouse!" She started to fake bite Spotkit.

"Hey! That hurts!" Spotkit complained, struggling to get out of Lilackit's grip. She coughed weakly.

"You won't get away from me!" Lilackit purred.

Rustlekit rolled his eyes. He always felt left out from his littermates, they would play but he never enjoyed playing, He much rather look around and explore. He always had been fascinated with herbs, but I didn't dare tell anyone. He would often like to look at the stars, and find things that don't belong, that are different.

"Stop! Can't you see that Spotkit doesn't like that? If you act like this all day, I won't take you out of camp!" Dustcloud's firm meow made Rustlekit jump onto his paws with fear.

"S-sorry, Dustcloud... It won't happen again!" Lilackit squealed, jumping away from Spotkit.

Spotkit shook her fur, and coughed once more. "Thanks, Dustcloud. Is it true we'll be apprentices soon!"

"I wouldn't lie. Harestar's my mate, he tells me everything!" Dustcloud smiled.

"Are you scared that Harestar won't like your kits? Or won't play with them? Like how Cedarbelly never plays with us?" Rustlekit asked.

"You know the only reason Cedarbelly doesn't play with you is because he's an elder because he went blind.  And if Harestar is too busy with his duties to play with the kits, than I will be with them. Your mother died giving birth to you. She was a great deputy. I'm not scared because I know that I'll be there for my kits, and Harestar will too" Dustcloud explained.

"Can you tell us more about what Roseheart was like!" Lilackit asked.

"Ya!" Spotkit squeaked, ending it with a weak cough.

"Sure! Me and you mother were great friends. When we were kits, we would put burrs in Fernkit and Fogkit's nest" Dustcloud laughed.

Fernwhisper looked at Dustcloud.  "They hurt!" She called, suckling her kits.

"We tried to sneak out of camp once, and Rosekit almost drowned in the moonpool river!  But I saved her, although I'm no the best swimmer.  We got in a lot of trouble!  Mintstar got really mad his daughter was out of camp, but we didn't get a punishment because he didn't want his daughter to be punished.  She was always ready for fun, and joked around often-"

"So like Lilackit!" Rustlekit interrupted.

Dustcloud nodded.  "She looked a little like Lilackit too!  She was also really kind, and loving and if she were alive, she would love you, and play with you every day. Roseheart  was the best cat I ever knew.  She's watching you from StarClan right now, and she's making sure I feed you with my milk, and play with you. She loved Cedarbelly, and was heart broken when he fell into that bramble bush."
