Music.

Everyone has heard music and has their own favorite song. This songs usually relates to them in a very special way. Sometimes people are even influenced by music, to make music.

I guess that's where this whole mess started out. Band was always full of special people, always caring, was, things had changed recently, but let's not talk about that right now. Being around those types of people was good for me since not a lot of people liked me cause of my sexuality. Being gay apparently isn't the most likable trait it seems.

Although, no one had really struck my attention recently since I was so focused on beating the first chair. I had been practicing in the morning everyday I could.

But, that one guy. That one trombone. He really caught my eye. I don't know what it was about him but I just felt butterflies when I saw him.

From his amazing dark brown hair to the red converses he wore. He was flawless. The way his eyes sparkled with determination. It was beautiful.

I wonder how his red sweater would look against my black and white one. Probably wonderfully, just like him.

"Conn? Conn!" I was snapped out of my thoughts and daydreaming by my friend who was sitting next to me. I looked over at her with a puzzled look.

"You were staring at the new kid. He's a trombone if you haven't noticed! Be careful you know the trombones don't like us, they'll think you're up to something if you stare too long." She whispered. Emily was a good friend. We've known each other since 7th grade and she's been totally cool with me all this time, even after I came out to her. She's a friend you can depend on.

"Sorry. Its  just- never mind. Do you know what the new kid's name is?" I responded.

"I think someone said it was... Holton? Yeah, definitely Holton."

That's a sexy name.

Ugh, get out of here perverted thoughts.

After band, everything was basically hell. But, then again, what do you expect from school? Few rude comments here and there. Some girls trying to flirt with me, but failing horribly and not getting the memo that I'm not into that. You know, the usual.

I did notice that Holton was in some of my other classes which was awesome. Although, I was caught staring quite a few times by other people. Holton never seemed to notice though. I wonder what he would say if he did catch me staring. Probably say I'm weird. At least he would have noticed me though.

Suddenly, the heavenly sound of the bell filled my ears.

Finally, I get leave this hell hole and be free.

I gathered my work and shoved it into my backpack, not bothering to organize it. I swung the thing over my shoulders and stepped out of the class. For a second, Holton had left my mind.

I walked down the long hallway, making my way to the exit. As I opened the door, I was greeted with the bright annoying sun.  It would be pretty if it wasn't always burning my eyes out of my skull.

On my way home, I took my path into the Forest. It was so quiet which I loved. The crumbling of leaves under my feet was so relaxing. Walking further and further, I came to a stop in front of a ladder on a tree that has been used countless times. I climbed it as I usually would and  reached my secret tree house. It was really large compared to the average tree house though. I had managed to make another tree house on the tree next to it and build a bridge to connect the to houses. The other house was also two stories thanks to how big the trunk was. So, I think this would much rather be a little tree fort than a tree house. It took quite a lot time to make so it should be appreciated like a fort anyways.
