RECAP

I gasped.

Chase was back.

 CHAPTER 2: FIRST IMPRESSIONS

[ARAINA]

I was left speechless. 'What was he doing back here?' I asked myself. 'Dumb butt. Why the hell should I care?'

"Looks like he got all glossed up; sweet, and fresh." Char smirked, winking at Chase when he looked our way.

Didn't she remember about her boyfriend? It was THE Michael Andrews; the next heir to his father's insurance company, probably well on its way to becoming the biggest one in the world.

Looking around, I already spotted several chicks waving, smiling, and even blowing a couple kisses at him. I groaned. He did change quite  a bit, for sure. His eyes still sparkled in a deep dark brown. His hair was perfectly styled; he had kept his natural hair color, a sort of golden brown, similar to mine. He grew a lot.

'Probably', I said to myself. The last time I saw him was when he was smaller than me. Now, he probably towered over almost every girl in the grade. Heck, he would have been taller than almost everyone in the school with the exception of tall Sophia. (It's my nick name for her. I hope the name gives away her most distinguished characteristic).

He had a well built body; broad shoulders and muscly arms.

'Whatever,' I thought to myself again.

It wasn't like he mattered to me, because he didn't. And no, this wasn't me denying the fact that I was starting to feel "love" towards him. These were my honest, undisguised feelings. I did have a crush on him in 3rd grade, when we used to call love, the L word.

In fact, he was actually my first crush, as well as the last. You see, if you go to school with practically the same people you've known since kindergarten, you would understand. There was no one new, or at least good enough anyway, and I was NEVER going to fall for a girl….. (this is awkward).

I chuckled as the teachers struggled settling the seniors down. The expression on the new teachers were priceless. Especially the Calculus teacher, Mr. Gomez. He was the new hottie at our school; though he must have been at least 25. AND engaged.

Still many of the girls, mostly the girly girls and the pretty pretty's, were eyeing him. This was basically the conversation that we had. No joke.

Me: Hey.

Girl 1 : Hi, oh hell, did you see the new teacher? He's SO hot

Me: Yeah…. He teaches Calculus… He's like.... teaching Calculus.

Girl 1: What's your point.

Me: Yeah, like he teaches Calculus...

Girl 2: Dude, he's engaged. Even BETTER .

Girl 1: I know, at least he isn't married; still a chance, right?

Me: She JUST said that he's engaged.

Girl 1: I don't care.

Girl 2: We. WE-don't care.

Me: But....but... he's engaged!

Girl 2: Shut up, I already know

Me: Okay, but just so you know, he's…. engaged. That means he's planning to marry, you know thatright?
