Chapter 1

El-Luise

We all sat around the square table, as we stared at each other with pure hatred. Everyone was speechless! How could it have to this? We have been friends for so long...And who would have thought that a wrong deed would turn a friend in need into a stranger. Most people where against our friendship or let me rephrase that, they wanted to separate or become a part of us, we had no inkling why. It’s weird right? Gorgina was the devil in the skin. She always had something up her sleeve no matter how many times her skims failed, she just never gave up. It became her new obsession ‘Destroy the Angel squad’. We had been through so much. We went to detention together, stood up for each other, even when sometimes we knew that we were wrong and we worked together to break the rules and sometimes it might have been the law...It’s not something I’m proud of but it was fun and worth it while it lasted. But not the getting caught part, that’s just nerve breaking, but like they say ‘never get caught’. Now look at us! We are fighting and thank goodness it hasn’t become physical just yet. We had no secrets between us, apart from the one I just told them. Why did I have to open my stupid mouth and blurt out the story about Mike and I? It wouldn’t have been an issue if one of us wasn’t so obsessed with him. Now Alice, my bff, sat on my right (she is defending me), Emmy sat at the head of the table (if it was a court case, than I guess she would be the judge). Susan sat opposite of me (she is on Kate’s side) and Kate sat opposite of Alice. I decided to break the silence, since it was kind of my fault.

Well...now that I’ve got the chance to explain-”

Explain what?! That you are going out with, my Mike? I see nothing that you can explain, it’s already loud and clear.” I told you that she was obsessed and now, delusional too! She has been interrupting me this whole afternoon! I didn’t even finish a single sentence without her leashing out on me about her precious Mike. I was becoming very irritated and so I looked at Emmy for help. She closed her eyes for a brief moment while ribbing her temples before she said in a faintly bored tone.

Can you please give her a chance to elucidate herself, Kate?” Kate slightly shook her in agreement. “Try explaining betrayal”. Susan blurted out. We all turned our heads towards her in shock. We couldn’t believe our ears. Susan always, and I mean always said the blondes’ comments ever and it is always at the wrong time, even though there is no such thing as a good time when it comes to saying something stupid. As if hearing my thoughts, Susan just had to open her mouth to prove my thoughts right. “I didn’t say anything wrong, or did I? It’s not my fault that Emmy used some fancy word...that I didn’t understand by the way. Plus, she clearly said Kate, not Susan. Or am I wrong?” I just rolled my eyes and ignored her comment completely like everyone else in the room.”Well, hear me out will you?” Choosing my words carefully, I continued “I am dating Mike because he asked me out”. That didn’t come out as planned. Now I sounded like Susan and even Emmy noticed that, “What a revelation Ella. Really? We gave you a chance to explain yourself and you tell us bullshit!” Emmy banged her hands against the table to emphasize her point. “NO! That came out all wrong”. I replied quickly. “Trying to come up with more lies-” Kate began taking but Emmy silenced her with a savage glare before Kate could stair up another argument. “Truth or lie?” I asked them boldly but I soon realised that I shouldn’t have said that. I saw anger flicker onto Emmy’s face and before she could explode, I added hurriedly “The truth is that, I am. not.really.dating.Mike.”
