Chapter 4

Terrance

I'm pasting back and fourth through waiting room. I can't be in there with him; I can't look at him, not while he's in that state. My brother, they tried to take my brother away from me. "Terrance , let it go aight." Tee says as he starts walking towards me. I take my fist and smash it against the hospital wall, creating a fist imprint. "My brother is sitting in a hospital bed, he can barley fucking move Tee; and you want me to let it go!" I scream. I'm angry, I'm hurt; my brother's in pain and I couldn't stop it. "Yes I want you to! I already got one brother in the hospital, I don't want two!" I feel my skin blistering from punching the wall. I wish it were Zack, no I wish it was Rashard. "Terrance you do this and you think they're gonna go on they're merry way and let you hurt one of they're own for your revenge, you'll be starting a war!" "No, they started the war the moment they shot Khleo in his chest. They didn't shoot him to wound him Tee, they shot him to kill him. My voice cracks. I can't process and I can't lose my brother. I can't. " Tee, why us man, why our family" I start to crumble, I lean my back against the wall and fall. Tears and snot start falling down my face. Tee embraces me. "We gonna make it through this and so will Khleo. We're Thompsons, we were made unbreakable".

Ariel

I feel someone lightly shaking me awake. "Ari I need you to wake up for me." I open my eyes slowly. At first the face looks blurry, but then my vision starts to clear. It's Sayvon, he hasn't called me by my nick name since our parent's accident. "Ari come on, I'm taking everyone home." Home? I don't want to leave Khleo by himself. "No, I want to stay with Khleo" I say in a raspy sleepy voice. "Tee's staying with him and in the morning all of us will come right back. Come on, I know your tired" he says. "But Khleo-" he stops me. "Khleo would want you to go home and get rest and then worry about him". I hate to say he's right. I force myself to wake up and answer him "Okay". I stand up and stretch, I start to look around and notice everyone is gone. "Where's everyone at?" my stomach starts to tighten. "They went to say goodnight to Khleo ten minutes ago and they should be in the parking lot by now" he says, while walking out of the waiting room. "Why didn't you wake me up sooner? I asked him, "Because you seemed warned out the most, so I let you sleep longer", he says. He let me sleep? That was.... It was actually nice of him. We get to Khleo's door, and Sayvon opens it slowly.

I see Khleo laying in the hospital bed with tubes sticking out of him. They managed to get the bullet out and he didn't lose so much blood. All in all Khleo will live but... it was the fall that did the damage. Khleo hit his head hard when he fell from the impact of the bullet. The doctor says he's in a coma state. He'll wake up when he's ready. Sitting on Khleo's left side , holding his hand was Trazon. I walked to the right side of the bed and took his free hand. I kissed it and said "Good night Khleo". Then I leaned into his bed and hovered over his face. I started rubbing his head lightly and then kissed his forehead. "I love you..." my voice breaks ".. so much, please wake up soon, please". I kiss his forehead again and step back. I walk to the other side of the bed to Trazon. Before I reach him, he already has his arms open wide for me. When I reach him finally, he bands his arms around me like steal and squeezes tight. Then I hear Sayvon's voice. "I love you more than you think and if you don't wake up soon, I'll kick your ass and make you brother." Then he leans over and kisses Khleo's forehead. He turns his back to Trazon and me. "Take it easy Tee and don't ride your self too hard". Then he walked right out of the room. Who knew in one of our darkest moments, Sayvon, would have a heart.

We make it to the house, then we all start heading to our rooms. When I reach Ameria and my room, I start to tuck her into bed. She grabs my arm, when I reach for the blanket to cover her. "I don't want to sleep alone Ari" she has tears in her eyes. I'm about to fall apart, but I stop myself. "You can sleep with me, in my bed" I say moving the covers back, "No, I want to sleep with everyone". She looked into my eyes when she said that. I have no choice but to agree with her. I walk by EJ and Terrance's room and began to knock on the door, then Jay and Tay's door. As they open their doors, they see Ameria and me heading to the living room with our blankets and pillows. They grab theirs and start to follow. When we make it to the living room, I see Sayvon sitting in the dark, looking up at the ceiling. His head snaps our way. He looks up at our faces and then to our blankets and pillows; without a word he gets up and lightly brushes past us. I shake my head and step into the living room all the way. We all start setting up spots to sleep on the floor except for Ameria. I set her up on one of the sofas. I don't know why I expected Sayvon to bond with us. That was stupid of me. Suddenly, the door is opened and in walks Sayvon with his pillow and blanket. Everyone stops and stares, we're completely taken back at the sight of him. He keeps walking until he's hovering over me on the floor. " Ari sleep on the other sofa. I'll take this spot" he says. I'm stuck in place. I guess he got tired of me staring at him because he gently helps me up and walks me to the other sofa; then, he sits me there with my stuff. After, he walks back to my spot on the floor and sets up his stuff.

When we're all finally comfortable with the lights out and finally manage to put Ameria to sleep I hear a soft sniffle. It's faint but I can still hear it. I was about to sit up, when I see Sayvon grab his stuff and move towards where Jayvon is sleeping. He fixes himself a spot near him and lays down facing him. "Shhh.. stop crying, it's annoying" he says while wiping Jay's tears. Really Say Say, just be a little bit nicer.

" I can't help it, I'm scared". Jay says. "I know and it's okay to be, but Khleo is fine, so don't worry too much" Sayvon says. "How do you know Say Say?" Jay asks. Sayvon brushes his hands through Jayvon's hair, "Cause Khelo's a Thompson; we're strong and tough, we can make it through anything as long as we're together.
