There was a child. She was a happy child. Cared for many things. She lived in a small community and took a bus to a rural school. She got good grades, made friends, she felt like she had a successful life so far. This was her life, her story that she could share, it was happy, just as she felt.

One day though. One fateful day.
She was having her usual Saturday, helping out at a hospital in another town close by. It was a regular day of playing cards with the resident she got to know so well. Though as the afternoon rolled around she felt as her life has ended even though it hadn't.

She was waiting for her mother to pick her up, waiting outside in a brisk wind. Soon enough she sees her mother small car driving past on the other side of the hospital only to see a semi truck behind the small vehicle.

Slow down...

Slow down...!

CRASH!

The girls eyes were wide with terror as she saw the scene unfolding before her.
The semi didn't slow down, nor did it stop as it crashed into the back of her mother's car with an impact that forced her vehicle into a metal pole directing halving the front end.

There was screaming. She heard it.... Then soon realized it was herself as the one screaming. The ladies at the front desk rushed out to where the girl stood and called in paramedics to get her mother from the car into the hospital. She was rushed into Emergency.

The girl was in shock.
Everything seemed to go by in a blur. Her best friend's mother took in a small responsibility to take care of the girl in her house with her best friend to make sure she would get cared for. The girl's brother brought over some of her clothes and the girl lived there for the time being.

There were many nights the girl woke up screaming. The scene would replay in her head again. She was petrified for her mother's life.

Her mother was in an induced coma, sleeping. It had been weeks with no sign of stirring. The girl had put up her walls, she'd only talk with her best friend and would never answer questions in class. Though it was during an Art class when she received a message. Her mother had woken up and was quite lucky.

The impact could've broken her back, though he had a few broken and battered ribs, she would be able to start functioning within a month or two.

It had been decided that the girl would continue on living with her best friend until her mother was better.

Even though there are happy stories, some aren't always happy all the way through. This girl had rough patches in her life, though she was able to make her self happy again
