Note: I don't actually know what is actually going on. It's weird.

Another day. Another class. All with the same feeling of dread. I could feel the darkness rising from the ground, and today it was stronger than ever. I wasn't allowed to talk about it though, I was one of the special kids at this school, and so are my friends. We were chosen by the principal, who we thought was a god. We don't know what god but he was a God.

The classroom went dark. Kids started screaming and I knew it was time. The Summoning has begun.

I ran out of the classroom and headed for the outdoors. The snakes had appeared, and there were the seven of them slithering around. It wasn't my job to kill them, it was one of the others that were meant to. It was one of the easier jobs, to cut the heads off of the snakes, then tie the bodies to branches of trees to the heads couldn't reattach themselves.

I looked behind me to see someone with an axe running toward me.  He definitely was hurrying to get to the snakes, the rest of our group were behind him, with their tools in hand. One of them met me with a second pair of scissors, handing them to me. We were part of the final step in stopping The Summoning; to cut the threads of Fate and banish them. We don't know where they get banished to, but it's probably somewhere horrible, so we try not to think of it.

We hurried over to our station, where it was already starting to look like a giant cobweb of string. A cloaked figure was kneeling on the ground with a giant spook of thread. My partner was supposed to be the one to cut the thread from the start, without being noticed. If he was the Fate would wrap thread around his head, over his eyes, and start a ritual on him, and I would have to jump in and get him out of it, cutting the thread around him and making the Fate release him from the chant.

The first time it happened I tried to cut the thread for him quickly while she was busy, but my scissors wouldn't cut it, so I had to get over to his kneeling body and cut the string from his head. Somehow I was immune to the Fate's gaze, so I could save people from her, but I cannot cut the thread from its source.

My partner was crawling up behind the cloaked figure. It didn't seem like she took notice, but he accidentally put his hand on some dry leaves that crunched under his weight. The Fate turned around and looked at him. He slowly got up from his hands and just kneels in front of her. I can feel his presence starting to disappear, something that I've learned how to manage to discover through the years. I made my way over to my partner as she was wrapping the string. Readying my scissors I waited for her to stop with the thread so I could cut it.

When she released the thread and started to say the words of a death chant, I cut the string from my partners head. She stopped and looked at me.

I remembered this so vividly. There were tears in her eyes, and I felt the tears threatening mine. She didn't want to do that chant. She didn't want to kill her son, but that was her job that day. No one knew where she went one day and my partner was devastated.

She mouthed a thank you, before my partner cut the thread from the spool. I said my part, which made the thread that she had already unraveled collect all of the darkness of The Summoning and brought it down under.

I woke up then, on the verge of crying.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Actually though. I literally woke up with my eyes threatening to make me cry.
