One of his old school-teachers encouraged him to start acting, and said he had that "All-American-Boy" factor—she soon became his manger for a short time as well. He then, not too long after, took some professional acting classes, and then got his first role, as guest star on a tv-show. And, after some more acting credits, he finally became the original Sandy Ricks for the "Flipper" franchise.
