“Mom, Mom” I yelled walking around the house. Where the hell is she!
“MOOOOOMMMM” I yelled I rounded the corner that lead into the kitchen.
“Would you hush!” my mom said when I walked into the kitchen.
“I found you.” I said.
“Where else would I be?” she asked as she was browning some hamburger for lunch.
“Watcha making?” I asked.
“Tacos for lunch. Would you go find your brother, I haven’t seen him all day.”
“He’s probably hung over from last night.” I told her and started laughing. She didn’t find it very funny knowing that he’s only 18 years old.
My mom started glaring at me. I instantly stopped laughing. “Ok, sorry. I’ll go find him.” I told her and scurried out of the black and white painted kitchen.
“CALVINNNNNNN!” I yelled through the house.
“PAYSON RAE IF I HEAR YOU SCREAM THROUGH THIS HOUSE ONE MORE TIME, YOU WILL BE GROUNDED.”
I stopped in my tracks. “Sorry.” I mumbled, not that she could hear me or anything.
This house is huge, what do you want me to do mom.
I huffed and walked up the spiral stair case and to my pig of a brother’s room.
“Calvin” I said and started banging on the door.
In the middle of my banging, the door flew open reveling a very pissy, and tired Calvin.
“Morning sunshine.” I said and walked past him into his room.
“What are you doing in here?”
“Mom told me to find you.” I said walking to the window and flinging open the curtains, letting in the morning sun.
“Well you found me, why are you waking me up so early?” he said shielding his eyes with a pillow.
“Early?” I laughed. “It’s like 11:30, dumbass.”
He groaned and walked into the bathroom.
My phone buzzed in my jean pocket.
Lunch will be ready in 10 my mom texted me.
“Lunch will be ready in 10!” I yelled to Calvin through the bathroom door that was connected to his blue and white room. “Be there or be square.” I said and headed for the door that lead to the main hallway up stairs.
“Looks like I’ll be square today then.” He said.
I rolled my eyes and left the room.
I stared to walk down the hallway again and ran into my father.
“Hi dad.” I said.
“Morning sweet heart, did you sleep well?”
“Yup. So whose coming today?” I asked him.
“Ummm, I’m not sure yet, but I have to go straighten something’s out, so I’ll see you at lunch.” He said and walked past me.
I sighed, and walked into my room.
My room was pink with a black stripe at the top of the wall. I have a queen size bed in one corner of my room and a hanging hammock in the other corner across from it.
I grabbed my Samsung laptop off my desk and walked to my hammock and check twitter for a bit, before lunch.
My door flung open and in walked Calvin.
“Here these were in my laundry, ya nasty.” He said and flung a thong at me like it was a sling shot.
And with that he walked out my room closing the door on the way out.
I laughed.
“Lunchh!” my mom’s voice echoed though the intercom system.
I put my lap top on my bed and walked down stairs.
I sat down in my spot at the kitchen table.
“No! I said no wood with that order, I told you millions of times!” my dad said walked into the kitchen with his Bluetooth in his ear.
He grabbed a plate of food and walked out the door.
“Of course.” I said.
“Come on honey, its Sunday, you know its work day.” My mom said putting a hand on my shoulder while putting some food on my plate.
I sighed. “I know.” My dad owns his own business so he spends a lot of time working and taking phone calls, Sundays are his catch up days, so often I never really see him on Sundays.
“Did you tell your bother lunch was ready?” she asked me.
“Yeah, I told him be there or be square, and he took the square option.”
My mom nodded and we both started eating.
“Hey!” a voice came through the door way.
“Hi, Derek.” My mother said turning to him. “Grab a plate, plenty to go around.
“Cool” he said walked to the table and sitting down and dishing up. Derek has golden brown hair, that is cut short but long at the front and styled up, like all the boys do in my school, he was a fit guy, plays football and soccer, typical high school boy.
“Where’s Cal?” he asked, he was Calvin’s best friend so he’s over here all the time, my mom thinks Derek is a good influence on Calvin, but I know that’s bullshit.
“Sleeping I’m assuming.” I told him taking a bite of my taco.
He nodded because his mouth was full.
“So are you excited for your senior year?” my mother asked him.
“You could say that, I’m just ready for collage.”
Only so you can party every day. I said to myself.
“Oh, well high school goes fast take it for granted.” My mom told him.
“I know, anyway thank you for the lunch Mrs. Williams.” He said and started to pick up his plate.
“Oh no Hun, Payson can pick that up for you.” My mom said.
I looked at her with crazy eyes.
“Alright, thanks Payson.” He said and winked at me before walking out of the kitchen and up the stairs.
“Why do I have to do it?” I asked.
“Cause you’re still getting punished for trying to sneak out the other night.”
“Mom it was like a week ago! And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for our bloody security system.” I said crossing my arms.
“Yeah, but it still happened so chop, chop.” My mom said clapping and standing up.
I groaned and started picking up the plates.
