Sorry the chapters have been short so far!! I'll try to make them longer from now on :)
Never had I had so much hatred for one subject. I was only 10mins into my test before I had completely given up.
"Mia!" I looked over to my right to see Mia fully emerged in her test. She stops writing and turns to me glaring.
"What! Can't you see I'm busy!" Mia puts her pen down and brushes the loose strands of hair from her eyes. Beads of sweat have already started forming on her brow due to concentration.
"What's the answer to number 6?" I whisper towards Mia, making sure Mr Podlich doesn't see me talking during his 'Most important exam of the year'.
"Jupiter" Mia replies blankly rolling her eyes at me. She turns back to her exam and continues hastily writing.
"Oh jeez, I got 47" I hear Jake mutter to my left. I snort at his remark.
"You do realise this is science, not math?" I question turning my head so I could now see Jake.
"Would you two please shut it!" Mia whispers harshly, glaring the of us down with an ice cold stare.
"MIA, SAMANTHA, JAKE! You can go to Principal Jameson NOW! Talking will NOT be tolerated in my class, especially during the most important exam of the year!" Mia, Jake and I snap our heads up to be met with the fuming Mr Podlich. His face was red and his eyes were bulging out of his head.
Mia death stares Jake and I as we hastily retreat the dreaded exam room. Her eyes bore into the backs of our heads as we head for Principal Jameson's office.
"I hate you!" She screams, her voice echoing down the empty hall, "I could have gone an A on that exam if it wasn't for you two big mouths!"
I kind of felt sorry for her. But then again she gets an A on every exam she takes, well except science now.
"Does it really matter?" Jake pipes up. He looks at Mia then shoves his hands deep into his pockets. " You always get an A anyway!"
Classic Jake. We think alike, almost too much alike. Mia often jokes that we were twins separated at birth.
"Yeah, well I still could of gotten an A if it was-" Mia trails off, her eyes looking forward. She stops suddenly, her face white with fear.
I stop and follow her eyes to the end of the hall. A man stands there, his shirt tattered showing his tanned skin. Blood is staining his pants and a cut is clearly visible on his forehead.
I gasp. His face is tilted to the side, looking at us almost, fascinated by us. Stubble coats his face and his eyes were ice blue and seem to pierce straight through you.
I tore my eyes from the strange man in the hall and quickly glanced at Jake and Mia. Mia was bewildered, her eyes staring straight into his. Jake on the other hand is fierce almost protective of us.
I turn back to the man, peeking at him from under my eyelashes. A blush creeps up my face.
Suddenly he starts moving towards us, first walking then beginning to walk faster a faster until he was flat out running at us.
"Run!" Jake yelled and tugged me along with him. I grabbed Mia and we turned and sprinted down the hall.
Mia was screaming her lungs out, causing teachers to open their doors to see what all the fuss was about. As soon as they peered down the hall and saw three high school students being chased by a strange, but gorgeous, man they promptly shut their doors, leaving us stuck in the corridor with him.
"We have got to lose him!" Jake shrieked turn quickly to see where the man was. "He's gaining on us!"
"Head for the gym!" Mia sprinted for the large glass doors 50m ahead of us.
I almost got there. Mia and Jake managed to fit through the doors and were about to help me in before I fell. I tripped on my stupid shoelace. After almost an instant the man was on me covering my mouth with a rag. It was wet and smelt funny. Slowly the halls started to spin. I could hear Jake and Mia's screams. Then the world went black and I could feel the man drag me away.
