Utapri Drabbles

Sayonara, Ochibi-chan.

It was strange. It's a normal day filled with work like always but there was an uneasy feeling lingering that the strawberry blonde idol couldn't shake off. But it was soon when he found out why he had that uneasy feeling. "What?" He asked again. "If you're trying to play a sick joke on me, I'm not the least bit happy about it, Hijirikawa." What was he talking about? It was very unlikely for his roommate to actually joke about such matter let alone the latter lacked humor in his body after all. Frustrated he immediately ended the call and dialed Syo's number to get the answers himself. Was it all true? What Hijirikawa said was all a lie, right? He kept repeating those in his head. 

Syo isn't... Dead. 

"Pick up, Ochibi-chan." He was glad someone had finally picked up but the voice that answered wasn't the voice he wanted to desperately hear right now. Instead it was Natsuki's voice that he heard. "Shinomi, where's-" The trembling of Natsuki's voice as he revealed the truth to him between sobs was what all it took for the news to finally sink in to him. 

Why... 

He couldn't believe it, after all he had just seen the smaller blonde two days ago. Being unable to work with the news of Syo's death, Ren had cancelled all of his work and made his way to the hospital. He refused to believe until he saw it with his own eyes. The look the receptionist gave him after he had asked for Syo's room all the more made him annoyed and uneasy. Dashing towards the room he was hoping to see the smaller blonde sitting on bed with a teasing smirk on his face and would soon say. 'Ha! Gotcha, Ren. You fell for our prank!' Or something along that line. But upon entering the room, all he saw was Syo lying down on his bed, his skin pale and his eyes closed as if he was just sleeping. Hijirikawa, Tokiya and Otoya all standing near his bed while Natsuki was still crying while holding Syo's hand. 

Hands curling into a fist before shouting. "Get up. You got me alright! Your prank worked! So wake up already. Just stand up and say something, Ochibi!" He walked towards Syo but before he could even reach him a hand held him by the shoulder. Darting his head towards Hijirikawa who just shook his head. "Ochibi, wake up..." The small blonde neither flinched nor moved while Natsuki continued to cry and even Otoya was covering his face while crying as well. "Damn you." He removed his roommate's hand and walked out of the room. He wasn't sure if he was cursing Syo or himself. How could this have happened? Why take Syo of all people? Sure they tend to tease and sometimes curse one another but there was clearly a brotherly bond between them after all weren't siblings depicted to tease and annoy one another but still care for each other? 

That night after Syo was taken to his last destination Ren was all alone in the apartment he had own before entering Saotome Gakuen as he didn't like staying with his brother. He had never showed any emotions the whole time, locking away his emotions as he couldn't let the others see him being weak. The bedroom was completely dark with only the lights from outside kept the room from being pitch black. Curled up near his bed with an arm resting on his knee while it supported his head. Memories of Syo kept flashing in his mind as he remembered the time how Syo would always remind and scold him to work on his assignments before Ryuya punished him. How he, Natsuki, Otoya, Tomochika and the little lamb try to help Syo overcome his fear of heights. When they won the Utapri Award, he had unconsciously shed a tear and Syo was the first to tease him about it yet he knew it was the smaller blonde's way of telling him that it was alright since it was an emotional time for them and felt the same way. Their bond had only gotten stronger after they had worked together during the cross-unit project, they may have not completely agreed with each other right away but when they had succeeded in doing the commercial for the smart phone it helped them see that their will always be times that they can't have the same point of view but it helped them understand and work together even better than before.

It was one of the times he had truly enjoyed working with Syo aside from many more times they had spent together with the rest of STARISH. "Damn you, Ochibi." He couldn't help it anymore as the tears finally started to fall. Luckily he had this place to go whenever he wanted to be alone as he could do whatever it is he wanted to do without worrying about the others seeing him, like now as he was crying rather loudly while he continued to yell 

'Darn you.' 

"How could you leave us like that... Weren't you one of those who is excited to finally perform at the Triple S?" What will happen now? Will the others go back to normal? STARISH debuted with six members and became seven when Cecil joined but now with Syo's death it didn't feel like STARISH anymore as one of the seven colored stars' light had disappeared. Back at the memorial concert they had held at the last day of Syo's wake was the first time since Cecil joined did STARISH sing as a six member group again. It felt strange as a voice was missing in their song, it didn't felt complete for the strawberry blonde idol and he was sure that the rest felt the same way. "I'll stop calling you Ochibi-chan if you just come back." He said between sobs. 

Impossible, yes but right now he didn't care at all. When he had finally calmed down, blue eyes stared outside the open window and up at the night sky, the stars shone brighter today despite how gloomy the day has been for him and those who knew of Syo. A soft gush of wind blew inside before Ren stood up and stood in front of the window. "What am I saying?" A weak chuckle escaped his lips as he wiped the tears off his eyes and a small sad smile was on his face. "You're still here, right? Watching over us... You're probably laughing your ass off right now that you saw how a sobbing mess I am? Very unmanly, I know." He let out another chuckle before continuing. 

"Damn you, Ochibi-chan."

A/N: Maybe I should just rename this Jinguji Ren drabbles as most of my works are about Ren. XD But oh well, I'll try to make drabbles of the other characters when I get the chance.
