Niall's POV

"Eve, please come here and take your medicine!" I groaned in annoyance as she ran up and down the couch in nothing but one of Harry's t-shirts and her undies.

It's been a four days since she was sick and we brought her to the doctors. He gave her some antibiotics that she had to take Once every twelve hours for a week.

"Hmm, nope!" She squealed with laughter. I sighed and shook my head. "Okay, then you leave me no other choices!" I told her, running over to the couch and grabbed her by the ankles, so she was upside down.

"No! N-Niall I will take it! Hehe put me down! Harry help me I'm trapped!" She laughed through the house. Harry ran downstairs smiling in a t-shirt and boxers.

"Well excuse me Niall, what did my baby do to deserve this?!"

"She refuses to take her medication, Harold. Please calm her down." I rolled my eyes, a smile still planted on my face. He grinned as I laid her down on the couch on her back. He sat down and lifted her into his lap and bounced her up and down. He dramatically massaged her cheeks as she continued to laugh uncontrollably

"Shh calm down. Calm down, crazy child." He whispered to her in a funny voice. She tried to squirm out of his grip.

These are the types of days that allow you to be extremely thankful for a decision you've  made. These are the moments that you can just let everything take place around you, and your job is to sit back and appreciate it all. These are the days worth living to the fullest.

The days that us lads are not constantly rushing around to work. The days that Evie is not sick and in pain. The days that we can just spend time together and be happy, when our biggest worry is how much energy Eve has.

"All done!" Harry shouted as he removed the medicine dropper from the little girls mouth. "Eck! I hate that." She complained.

"Way to go champ!" I shouted as I lifted her up, waving Eve around in the air. She laughed as I gently threw her down on the couch.

Her energy had seemed to calm down as she laid on the couch, trying to catch her breath and playing with some weird squishy ball. "I'm gonna go get dressed." Harry mumbled as he ran up the stairs. I looked at her and sighed.

"You hungry?" I asked her. She nodded, keeping her focus on the toy. I turned away and began walking to the kitchen. I heard the ball drop and roll a way, followed by something I never expected to hear.

"Shit."

I stopped dead in my tracks and slowly turned around, staring at the young girl who just blurted out the word. Before she could stand up to grab the toy, I spoke to her.

"Eve, what did you just say?"

"I said shit." She shrugged. It took every power within me not to burst out laughing, yet a small smile crossed my face before I quickly went back to fatherly mode.

"Where did you hear that exactly?"

"At the restaurant."

It came back to me. We were sitting in the small diner where the old waitress tried to fit all six of our plates onto the table. As Louis tried to make more room, he knocked his glass of water all over her worn out apron. "Shit! I'm so sorry." Lou exclaimed. Eve's eyes curiously watched him like a hawk. "Not a problem, dear." She sighed as she went to the kitchen to grab a towel.

I assume that's when Eve took liking to the word. "Well-I-I-uhm" I tried to give am explanation. Wait. This isn't my job.

"Lou!" I shouted, throwing the confused child on my hip and proceeding to the lads room. As I opened the door, he was laying on his bed, his laptop open in front of him. He looked at me confused but grinned when he saw Eve.

"Hey baby. Come lie down with me." He grinned to her, beckoning her over. "Actually, we have a bit of a situation..." I trailed off. His face immediately turned from happy to confused.

"Eve said a not-so-nice word downstairs. She dropped her squishy ball and said 'shit'. Would you like to speak to her?" I asked Louis. He nodded as I sat her on the bed.

"Thanks, Niall." He smiled, signalling for me to leave. I gently closed the door on my way out as I chuckled at the problem.

Louis' POV

"How you feeling, bud?" I rubbed her back as she lay on my bed. "Better." She croaked.

"So do you understand why I'm upset with what you said?" I asked. She shrugged and closed her eyes. "No baby, you can sleep later." She let out a cry as I lifted her so she was sitting up straight. "We don't use words like that. I understand we may say them, which we will stop, but we're adults, and you're still a kid. I know you didn't know better but you will get in trouble if you say that again, because it's not a nice word. Do I make myself clear?" I asked her. She nodded.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know. I love you." She leaned into my side. I lifted her up and laid her down. I laid beside her and she looked at me. "You already know how much I love you." I kissed her nose. She scrunched her nose up and smiled. "Go to sleep, Niall's new girlfriend is coming over for dinner." I whispered. She cuddled into my side and fell asleep within minutes, me following.
