Monday mornings suck. I was in Math class about to fall asleep when my friend Aidan keeps snapping his fingers keeping me awake. All of a sudden some kind of purplish looking mist  makes the doors fly open. Mrs. Vonica goes to close the door with a confused look on her face. All of a sudden the whole class gets knocked out. In to a sleep. Including the teacher. For some odd reason I wasn't. "Erica?" Aidan says. "Huh?" I say. How come me and Aidan weren't knocked out with the rest of the class. I walk up to the door and open it. "Aidan come on." I say motioning him to the door. He gets up and asks, "Where are you going?" "To see if it happened to the rest of the school. We go in multiple classrooms and see everyone asleep. We head downstairs to check more classrooms and hear.. Footsteps! "Someone's awake!" I whisper to Aidan. "Erica! Aidan!" Zoe says. "Zoe!" I shout hugging her tight. "Are you alone?" I ask. "No.." She says. "Hey guys." Khloe says coming out of the corner with Maia and Owen. My best friends. "Who did this?" I ask, "and why are we the only ones immune?" They all shrug. "Are we even the only ones awake?" Zoe asks. "Probably." Aidan answers. Suddenly the doors fly open. "What's going on?" Khloe screams. Then there's a big flash of wind blowing us to the back of the room. Lightning cracks and thunder booms. All of a sudden a shadow comes up from the darkness. We all try to get up and see who it is but the wind was too strong. We were all basically glued on to the wall holding on to each other with our lives. I saw horns and some kind of long dress. Maleficent. I knew it the minute I saw her. "Maleficent." Aidan whispers backing up. She gets out of the darkness. "Hello darlings." Maleficent says. "Sorry for the dramatic entrance!" She says with a chuckle. "W-Who are you?" Khloe asks. "I'm sure you know, darling." Maleficent says. "Haha very funny 'Maleficent', is this some kind of joke?" Khloe laughs. "Khloe, I'm surprised hearing that from you. You are a believer." Maleficent says. "Believer in what?" Khloe asks. "Why in magic of course!" Maleficent says. "You're really Maleficent!" Khloe exclaims. "The one and only." She laughs. "Why did you make everybody sleep? And why did we stay immune? I ask. "Erica. So demanding."  Maleficent says smiling. "Well only the truest believers in magic stay immune." She says. "But, why? Why did you cast this curse." I ask. "The sleeping curse? Oh it won't last long." She says. "Just long enough to do this." She says. With a snap of her fingers dragons came and blocked our way out. We all tried to sneak away but I could tell Maleficent was up for no game. "Get them!" Maleficent yelled to the dragons. The dragons fire breath made the building start to crumble. "Erica watch out!" Aidan shouts. I look up to see a loose piece of the ceiling coming down. Aidan pushed me out of the way. But not in enough time to save himself. "No!" I screamed. I pick up the big heavy piece of ceiling. "Zoe! Owen! Khloe!" I scream. They came running. "The dragons are coming from both sides we have to--" Owen stops. I give Aidan a small peck on his cheek and give him a hug. He suddenly jumps up and inhales. "Aidan!" I screamed in relief giving him a big hug. Dragons start invading the area we were in. "Dragons. Back!" Maleficent says. "People are going to start waking soon. We must leave now!" Maleficent says. "What makes you think we'll go with you?" Aidan asks. "I don't believe you'll have a choice." She says with a laugh. Soon we all disappear in a puff of red smoke. "Welcome to Storybtooke." Maleficent says. "Why are we here?" I ask. "You'll see." Maleficent says. We disappear in another puff of smoke. But this time it was only me and Aidan. While we did, something fell out of Maleficent's pocket. It was a scroll. I swiped it just in case it was important. We were at a cliff. "Ursella get em." Maleficent says. From behind us tentacles come up and tie me up. "Now Erica. I saw you swiped something of mine." Maleficent says. "I don't know what your talking about." I say refusing to speak. "Speak up." Ursella says tightening her grip. "I'm positive I don't know what your talking about." I say. "Tell me or the pretty boy dies." Cruella says threatening to push Aidan off the cliff. "Erica don't give her anything their evil!" Aidan says. "You wouldn't." I say, my voice cracking. "Oh but would I?" Cruella says pushing him closer to the edge. My face tenses up as I hand her the scroll. Ursella finally lets go of me. "That was your ticket out of here." Maleficent says laughing. "What?" I say. "Oh you don't know!" Cruella says laughing. "Know what?" Aidan says. Nobody can leave Storybooke once they've entered unless they have this scroll or are a Storybook character. "Erica why would you spare my life for that scroll?" Aidan asks. "Because Aidan, I couldn't let you die.. Again!" I say. He gave me hug. "Thanks!" He says. "Yeah anytime." I say. All the villains turn around and leave now that they've got what they wanted. "Why did you want us here!" I shout to Maleficent. "It will all make sense in the end." She says. They disappear into the forest. "I'm just relieved your okay." I say. We sit there and stare at each other for what seemed like forever. And he kissed me on the cheek. "Looks like I finished it." He said. "What?" I ask. "When I 'died' you kissed me, that's what saved me." He says. "Ohhh!" I laugh. We walk into the forest together. "Where are they?" I ask. "Who?" Aidan asks. "Zoe, Owen, and Khloe!" I say. "Oh my gosh!" I yell. "What if they got kidnapped!" "Come down Erica!" Aidan reassures me, "We will find them!" I gaze into his eyes. Wow he is pretty! No! Erica. Focus! "But it's getting dark." I say. "Then we'll find them in the morning." He says. "But where will we sleep?" Aidan asks. "Look down the street! Granny's bed and breakfast. We run there and check in a room. Everyone kept giving us weird glances. We went into a room with a tv, couch, and one big queen size bed. "This bed could fit us both." Aidan says. "Yep! I'm exhausted!" I say. "Same here!" He says back. We both hop into the bed and turn off the lights. "Goodnight Aidan!" I say. "Goodnight Erica." He says.

   In the morning we went out to get breakfast. I ordered pancakes and Aidan ordered waffles. We ate quick to keep looking for our friends. But suddenly the doors flew open. The evil queen. But more.. Modern day. "You!" She says pointing at me. She used her magic to pull me up to her. "Come!" She says. "No!" I say trying to run. "Stop!" She says using her magic to stop me. She intensely starts to choke me. "Stop!" Aidan yells. "Aidan stop! You could get killed!" I shout. "Listen to the girl!" She snaps. "Who is that your boyfriend?" She asks. "No no no!" I say. "No!" Aidan says. "Okay. And what are you? The evil queen?" Aidan asks. "My name here is Regina." She says. "Now back off!" "Regina do you have em' yet?" Cruella asks bursting in. "Not yet. Do we need the boy too?" She asks. "Of course!" She laughs. "Great." Regina says grinning. We disappear in a purple puff of smoke into some kind dark room. "Now.." Regina says ripping out my heart. Groaning in pain I try to stay strong. "Erica!" Aidan yell. "No Aidan stay where you are! Don't do anything you'll regret!" I say. He kicks Cruella in the shin and grabs Regina's arm. "Give her the heart. "Why would I do that." She asks. "Because I told you too!" Aidan says punching her in the face. When the two of them were knocked out we manage to escape. "Now! We have to find our friends!" I say. "Oh.." I say turning around. "Thank you! That was amazing Aidan!" I say hugging him. Just as I release from the hug black knights come out surrounding us. I immediately hug him again. This time with fear. "What do you want?" I ask. "We work for Regina!" One says. "Come with us and no one gets hurt!" Another says. "Except you." Aidan says grabbing one of the Knights swords. The guard immediately knocks it out of his hand. "Foolish boy!" The guard says with a laugh pointing his sword at Aidan's chest. "I know your after our hearts!" Aidan says. "Why?" "None of your business!" He yells grabbing my heart. They try to run but Aidan immediately catches them and snatches my heart back! Wow. Before he got the chance to return it one black night came up from behind and held Aidan with a knife inches from his neck. "Hand over the heart or die." A knight says. My face really starts tensing up. I was so mad. All of a sudden my hands started to...glow? I shoot them right at the guards. Was that magic? "Aidan!" I screamed. "Are you okay?" "Y-yeah!" He says. "Thanks to you!" "Come on!" I say helping him up from the road. "We've got to find out what their up to!" Aidan says. "Aidan we almost got killed! I don't want to risk it." I say. "We've gotta at least try!" He says. "Okay! But one more wicked witch threatening to kill you or me and I'm out!" I say. We start to walk and find Regina in our path. "What do you want?" I ask. "Your heart!" Regina says. I immediately wrap my arms around Aidan. I don't know it, makes me feel safe! "Well your not going to get it!" He yells. "Why do you even want it?" I ask. "Do you really want to know?" She asks. "Um..yeah!" Aidan says. Regina sighs. "You have the hearts of the truest believers. That's why when you came here you got magic unlike your friends who were immediately sent back." Regina says. "What!" I say in shock.

Authors note: This book is based off of the tv show Once upon a time! Thank you for reading chapter one. It's kind of short. Please stay tuned for chapter 2; It has Henry in it. This is for all the oncers. No spoilers of the show. Hope you love it ;)
