*Aubrey's P.O.V*

"So friends?" He asked. I nodded.

"Friends." He leaned in for a hug but I stood stiffly, making it awkward.

The bell rang and we went our separate ways. I entered my America history class and sat down at my desk. Ashton was in this class, but because of his suspension, he had to spend the day doing his work in the principal's office. I took out my composition book and a pen. I copied the notes down. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my friend Megan passing notes with her boyfriend, Anthony.

The bell rang, and I went to study hall. I sat next to some guy name Kian. I barley knew the guy. When the bell rang for lunch, I found Megan and we walked to the cafeteria together. We sat at out regular table, and all of our other friends we already there.

"Hey bitches!" Our friend Brooke said. I laughed, but I was still upset about the kiss. Not because Ashton kissed me, but because I liked it. And I was very committed to the idea of not falling for him.

"Aubrey!" Megan yelled, interrupting my thoughts.

"What?" I said.

"You looked like you were possessed or something." I looked around self consciously. How long had I been in my daze? Ugh. I couldn't believe I was hung up on Ashton.

When I got home that day there was no one in the house. I went upstairs and changed into some sweatpants. The spring formal was the next day. I picked out my outfit and laid it out. I wondered if Ashton was still allowed to go to the spring formal. A part of me wanted to avoid him but another part of me really wanted to see him again.

The next morning I got up early and started preparing for the dance. I called Megan and asked for a ride. I went to the store and picked up some black nail polish. Around seven, I started getting ready. I curled my hair and put on my dress: (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=131387959) I waited for Megan to pick me up and we drove to the dance. When we got there, the gym was decorated like a street in Paris. I immediately spotted Ashton across the room. I sat down at one of the tables while my friends dance with their boyfriends. Why did I even want to come to this stupid thing? I was alone, and I looked like an idiot, and heaven know I would much rather be back at home, in my bed. Just as I was standing up to leave, Ashton came over to me.

"Do you want to dance with me?" He asked. They were playing a slow song.

"Sure." He led me to an open spot on the dance floor. I draped my arms over his shoulders and he put his hands on my waist. We swayed back and forth until the song was over. He stared at me.

"What?" I said.

"Nothing," he mumbled, looking away. I turned and ran out to the parking lot and grabbed my skateboard out of Megan's truck.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Ashton called after me.

"Home," I said.

"Why?"

I shrugged. "There's nothing for me here. I'm bored."

"Can I come with you?" He asked. I nodded. I didn't want to be alone. He disappeared for a moment, and came back with his skateboard in one hand. "Let's go," I said. I skated home, and he followed close behind. I left my skateboard on the porch. It occurred to me that my parents were still at a banquet for my dad's work. I hope Ashton didn't get the wrong idea. "Wait here," I said when were inside. I dashed up the stairs and put on some of my dad's old boxers and my summer camp t-shirt. I put my hair in a top knot and removed my makeup. I put on some fuzzy socks and went into my parents' bedroom. I grabbed some plaid pajama pants and a plain t-shirt from my dad's drawer that looked like they would fit Ashton.

"Here," I said, handing him the clothes.

"Oh.... thanks." he said. He went into the bathroom to change. While he was gone, I grabbed a comforter from the hall closet and popped some popcorn. I put it in a huge bowl and sank into the couch with my blanket.

The bathroom door opened and Ashton came out.

"How do I look?" he said, raising his eyebrows. I laugh. He sat down next to me, snatching the popcorn. I popped my favorite movie, The Hangover, in the DVD player. He put his arm around me and we shared the blanket and the popcorn. Eventually we both fell asleep on my couch.

The rest of the weekend went by fast. When I woke up Sunday morning. Ashton was gone, and the clothes I had let him borrow were gone with him. I spent the day lounging around. Monday I got up early and got ready. (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=131444058) I skated to school and put my skateboard in my locker and went to my first period.

"Attention, everyone," I heard my teacher say. I was digging in my backpack, not looking at her. I looked up and found myself staring into a pair of familiar green eyes.

"We have a new student. This is-" the teacher began, but she didn't need to finish. STanding before me was Cameron.
