We finally made it to Dylan's house. As usual, I raided his kitchen. I came back out with some Pringles, Skittles, and of course, a slice of pizza.
Dylan and Jack were talking about basketball since they would be playing that next Monday.
"Okay, no one touches the skittles, no one gets hurt." I said as I set down the skittles on the coffee table.
"I'm gonna go ask Jess if she wants anything." Dylan said. Jess was Dylan's younger sister by a year. She basically was the only girl I ever talked to. She wasn't your annoying little sister, but she actually did act her age, maybe older.
That left Jack and I alone, in the living room, with the bag of skittles still on the table.
"So are you and Dylan dating?" Jack asked.
"Nope. We're just friends."
Thank GOD that Dylan came just then. "She said she was up for Starbucks. We're leaving in 20 minutes because Jess was texting her 'friend'."
"Dylan, leave her alone about that. She is old enough to have guy friends."
"Fine."
I grabbed my bag and went upstairs to change. I pulled out my outfit; a black crop top, some jeans, and my maroon Vans. I put my hair up into two dutch braids and pinned them back to make it look like a crown. I knew we weren't just going to get Starbucks. Earlier in Science, Jackson was talking about a party after school. Of course, I looked over at Dylan, and he nodded his head.
"Hey, you know this isn't a dance, right?" I heard Dylan from the door.
"You know how long I take to get ready."
I yelled."Okay, I'll be in the car."
"I'll be out in 10."
I went to check on Jess, who was debating what to wear. She heard about the party from one of her friends, who was Jackson's brother.
"Hey Jess."
"Hey Annabel. I can't decide what to wear."
"How about your black crop top and some tights?"
"Yeah, but won't people think I'm weird since you're also wearing a black crop top?"
"True. How about you're white one? Wear it with some tights and boots."
"Annabel, you are the greatest friend ever."
"Darling, where would you be without me?"
Her hair color was just like Dylan's, but her hair was straight enough that it could cover two heads. She looked like she was 14 at the most.
"Okay, how do I look?"
"Like a normal person."
We got in Dylan's car, and he drove all of us; him, Jack, Jess, and I. We finally made it to Starbucks, and I asked for my usual.
Once we got our drinks, we drove to Jackson's house.
There were cars everywhere. I saw Calvin and Audrey kissing, again. Audrey wore a blue dress with her boots. To be honest, she actually looked really nice.
We walked right passed them when someone called my name. "ANNABEL!!!"
It was Jackson and his friends. I never talk to them much, but they talked about me, A LOT.
"Hey Jackson. Nice party."
"Thanks. Hey, have you met Marcus?"
"No."
"Oh he's over there."
I followed to where he was pointing and saw a tall guy with brown hair. He was wearing a black muscle tee to show off... WOW, he was HOT.
He's in my English class with Dylan and me. I don't talk to him much, but he occasionally looks at me, and I do look back at him... Sometimes. He is kinda funny, but him and his friends are just really annoying.
"You should go talk to him," Jackson says.
"Nah. He wouldn't talk to me anyways."
"Okay then... MARCUS!!!!"Jackson yelled from across the room.
He walked over to us as Jackson introduced everyone.
"Okay Marcus. This is Dylan, Jack, Jess, and Annabel. Guys, this is Marcus."
"Nice shirt." Marcus said as he pointed to my shirt.
"Thanks."
"Guys I'll be right back." Jackson called out.
"Hey everyone. Thanks for coming. Now let's get this party started!"
