~Riku POV~

“Riku,” my best friend, Viktor Krum, muttered as he watched me. “Vat are you doink?”

“What’s it look like, Vik?” I asked, swinging my bag over my shoulder and bending down to pick up my rather wrinkly puppy, Charles. He was really wrinkly, because he’s an English bulldog. I loved him with my heart and soul.

“You think you are goink to sneak onto the ship?” Viktor asked skeptically, staring at me with wide eyes. “You think Headmaster Karkaroff vuld like it if you suddenly appeared?”

“Of course not,” I replied, laughing as I scratched Charles behind his ear, and he leaned into it. “All I need is for you to find me a nice hiding place, and you’ll never hear from me for the rest of the journey to Hogwarts.” I brushed my dark brown bangs from my face, showing off my cerulean eyes, a trait I received from my mother. My hair came from my father, Remus Lupin.

“Riku, let’s go!” Vik said, grabbing my free arm and half dragging me toward the boat. “Ve must hide you before everyone else gets on ze boat, or else zere vill be no chance to get you on dere before Karkaroff.”

I nodded, following along behind Viktor. Soon we reached the grounds outside the MASSIVE castle that was known as Durmstrang Institute, and down toward the lake, where our humongous ship-wrecked boat was waiting for us. It was how we arrived and left Durmstrang.

Viktor found me a large closet to hide in among many other brooms and mops. I looked at Viktor with a ‘really?’ look before he shoved me in with a chuckle and using magic on the door to lock it so only I could get in and out.

I lit the tip of my wand by muttering “Lumos,” and pulled my scrapbook out of my bag. Lying down flat and letting my legs go straight up the wall, I flipped open the picture book with Charles already asleep beside me, curled up.

I looked among the many pictures of me and my twin sister, Charlie, and pictures of us and our father. There was also one of the four of us. Me, Charlie, our father, and our mother.

I could hear the sound of running water, and grinned. I closed the scrapbook and put out my wand by muttering “Nox,” I re-packed my bag and listened to the footsteps of my fellow Durmstrang students as they left the boat.

Once I was sure they were all gone, I slowly stood, gathered Charles in my arms, and left the closet, out into the abandoned hallway. I slowly crept off the boat and ran up toward the castle that loomed in the darkness, the windows all alight. Charles barked as we reached the castle.

“Hogwarts,” I gasped, looking around the amazing interior of the entrance hall. “Here I am!”

~Charlie POV~

“Stupid Madam Maxime!  I can do what I want!  I’ll go to Hogwarts for the Triwizard tournament if I want to!”  I muttered as I shoved more items of clothing into my trunk.  “Cherry!  If jou are going to be coming with us to ‘Ogwarts jou need to ‘urry up!  Ze carriage leaves in thirty minutes!”  Fleur called to me from across the room, her trunk already packed.  “Shh!  Don’t say it so loud!  I don’t want Madam Maxime to know I’m going!”  I said, slamming my trunk shut quickly, a sock getting caught halfway in and out of it.

“Jou are zo messy.”  Fleur said to me, laughing slightly.  “Yes, yes, I know!  Now let’s get going!”  I whisper-yelled, grabbing my trunk with my left hand, and my cat, Septimus’s, cage with my right hand.  “Alright, alright.”  Fleur said with her thick accent.  We hurried our way through the castle and to the carriage as quickly as we could.  “I still tink jou should not be doing zis.”  Fleur chastised as I walked into the carriage.

“I know, Fleur!  But I have to!”  I argued as we made our way to her room in the carriage.  “Jes, jes, so jou can see your sister, I’ve ‘eard it all before.”  Fleur muttered.  I huffed quietly as I opened the closet in Fleur’s room.  It was a medium sized walk in closet, but it would work.  Until we got to Hogwarts at least.  “I would offer jou my bed, but we don’t want Madam Maxime to find jou; now do we?”  Fleur laughed, throwing a pillow at me.  “Hey!”  I exclaimed in protest.

Before I could retaliate though, I heard footsteps walking down the hall toward us.  “Eek!”  I squeaked, hurrying into the closet.  I heard the person knock on the door.  “Come in.”  Fleur said politely in french.  “’Ello, Fleur we will arrive at ‘Ogwarts in twelve hours.”  I heard Madam Maxime reply back.  They carried on a small conversation before Madam Maxime left.

“She iz gone.”  Fleur said.  I came out of the closet and threw a pillow at her, giggling furiously.  The rest of the ride went smoothly, until we were laughing so loudly at one point that we didn’t hear Madam Maxime open the door.  “Charlotte?!  WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?”  She yelled in french.  That made our laughing stop instantly.  “Madam Maxime!  I, uh, I…Wanted some of those candies you can only get from Honeydukes.”  I obviously lied, laughing nervously.

“I cannot say I am surprised that you would disobey me.  Since we are almost to Hogwarts, you might as well stay.  But if you put one toe out of line, you will be sent immediately back to Beauxbatons!  Do you understand me?”  Madam Maxime said sternly, though I knew they were just empty threats.  “Of course, Ma’am!”  I agreed, nodding.  “I would tell you both to get some sleep, but I do not see the point as we will be at Hogwarts any minute.”  Madam Maxime said, turning around and leaving the room.

“Cherry!  How do jou always do zat?!”  Fleur asked.  “Do what?”  I asked, picking up Septimus and placing him in my lap.  “Get out of trouble!  Jou never even get detention!”  She said.  “Oh.  I dunno.  Must be my charm!”  I said, flashing a smile.  “Oh jes, zat must be it.”  Fleur said sarcastically.  “Hey!  I’m very charming!”  I glared.  “Oh yeah, jou were very charming on jour date with Thomas, weren’t jou?”  Fleur said.

“Oh gosh, please don’t bring that up!”  I said, blushing furiously.  “I’ll bring it up if I want to!”  Fleur said, laughing.  I was about to say something else, but before I could, the carriage lurched forward and I fell flat on my face; Septimus jumping off my lap just in time.  “Well, it seems as though we have arrived at Hogwarts.”  I muttered into the floor.
