Jade's POV
Summer was officially over and the hot heat turned into the fall breeze. As I packed up my belongings from my Chicago home, I reminance on what I did this summer, my internship at Teen Vogue and my birthday, I realized that my days of relaxation are over.
School is about to start.
For the past two years, I have been attending Eastern Prep School in New York. It was a co-ed boarding school, where the stereo typical high school cliques didn't exist.
There wasn't a popular group nor was their geeks or nerds. We were all united as one.
I finally turned off my bedroom light and walked out of my room, excited to see what my junior year brings to me.
*4 hours later*
Eastern Prep School didn't require uniform. But it did require you to dress appropriately.Being in a boarding school, with absolutely no parents around, of course the desire to dress inappropriately increased tons.
Girls with tight mini skirts and their low cut tops. Guys with baggy pants and their underwear showing.
But the best thing about this school was that everybody had their own sense of style.
For example, my thing is plaid skirts. I'm in love with plaid skirts! Blazers, collared shirts and head bands. But I'm not stereotypically the smart one in my group. I'm the rebellious one. I'm the one who gets into fights and confronts other people on their bull shit.
I have a lot of friends but so few that I trust. Being stabbed in the back so many times makes you wonder if your secrets are worth telling.
Eastern Prep School is separated into 4 different houses based on what you want to be when you grow up.
The first house is the S.T.E.M house, where the people who choose the science, technology and engineering route go. Usually the mathematicians go here, which I certainly am not.
The second house is the Public services house. The future police officers and lawyers attend this house. Their are your best friends and your worst enemy's.
The third house is the Athletic Perfecfion house. Our future athletes reside in this house. All they do is train and train all day.
The fourth house, which is my house, is the Performing Arts house. Actors, actresses, singers and such and such, reside at this house. All of our academics is based on singing, dancing, acting and instrumenting playing. More than half of our alumni has been accepted into Juilliard . Almost everyone has been famous.
As for me, I rather not be famous, because you become this paper girl. The media has some say on who you are and that defines you, unless you don't get it to you.
I wish that I could be more like my friends, they don't let people define who they are. I'm constantly changing who I am because I don't know who I am. I'm struggling to find out.
As I walk down the corridor to meet up my friends, Rose and Piper, I couldn't help but smile.
I had so many memories walking down the aisles in the past two years. Where I met my best friends, the moment I had my first kiss and the time where I made my worst enemy.
But, one day, I'm going to forget everything. So that's why I keep a journal of every thought and secret I ever knew. Hopefully it doesn't get stolen or lost because my whole life is there.
As I turned to walk down the corridor, I saw my friend Piper and her gleaming smile. I looked over to see my friend Rose and how her face lights up every time she's talked about Shawn Mendes.
It was a sight to see and a sight to hear, everything was at peace. The students where chattering on what they did last summer and so far, no drama or heartbreak.
But we all know, great starts have the worst endings.
