I waved bye to Harry as he pulled out of my driveway. He waved back before turning and driving away.

I turned around and opened the door to be welcomed by the smell of vanilla and lavender and my mom running down the stairs.

"Aurabelle! I missed you!" She squealed as she brought me into a bone crushing hug.

"I missed you too mum," I said, hugging her back. She let go and grabbed my giant suitcase. "I can get that, don't stress about it."

"Nonsense. You've been carrying it since you left, it's the least I can do." She said, bringing it up the stairs. I rolled my eyes, knowing she wasn't going to give in so I just grab my carry on and my container of bacon and followed her up the stairs.

"So how on a scale of one to Barbie, how pink and frilly did you make my room?" I asks my mom as we reach the top of the stairs.

"Negative six, I actually think it looks decent, in your taste." She says, smiling proud.

"We'll see then, I guess." I said.

We reach the top of the stairs and she leads me down a hall way and at the end is a door that had a Rise Against poster on it. My mom stepped aside to let me open it myself. I turned the silver nob and was surprised to see mint green walls with one jet black wall. A big white bed was pressed against the black wall and the sheets were poofy with mint green and grey polka dots on them. There was a TV placed across from my bed on a white stand that had a section underneath that held a stereo. There was a desk and a dresser, both also white and the hardwood floors were a light brown colour.

"You did this?" I ask my mom in dis-belief.

"Robert helped!" She said, beaming. I groaned at the sound of his name. "Aura," she warned. "Be nice. I don't understand why you won't just give him a chance."

"All he does is try to be my father. I already have one, I don't need another." I say annoyed. "Also he forced me to move from the only place I love."

"No, I made you move." She said. "Robert has been kind enough to let you stay in his home and you have been nothing but rude to him ever since you met him. Just please at least try to get along with him."

"Fine. I'll try talking to him with slightly less sarcasm." I say.

"Aura." She said, trying to sound stern but failed because she couldn't be a super serious parent if her life depended on it.

"Fine. I'll try." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Thank you Aura," she said with a big smile on her face. "This means a lot to me, he's very special to me."

"Yeah, yeah, you're welcome." I said walking into my room. "What's with the huge black wall?"

"It's chalkboard paint" she said holding out a pack of chalk that was on my nightstand. "You always wanted to write on your walls when you were little so I thought you'd might like this."

"That is amazing." I said, a smile spreading across my face at the idea of how I can decorate the wall.

My mom looked at me before pushing my bangs to the side a bit and kissing my cheek. She smiled a bit and said "I missed you so much baby girl."

"I missed you too mum." I said before hugging her.

She let go and walked out of my room and closed the door behind her. I ran over and flopped onto my bed and sighed as I sank into it. "I could just die here" I thought to myself. I felt my phone vibrate to see that I had a text from Spencer.

From: Spencer (:

Call me PLEASEE! We need to talk.

I laughed and opened my call app and pressed her name. She picked up after two rings and all she said was "I hate you." I knew she was joking so I played along.
