The smell of coffee and disinfectant waft into my nose as I walk into the Detroit Airport.

"I hate this already." I said flatly, stopping in my place.

Spencer, my best friend, turned and looked at me when she noticed I wasn't walking beside her anymore.

"Come on Aura," Spencer said, pulling at my arm. "I don't want you to leave as much as you do, but sadly, you kinda have to."

I sighed and pulled my lime green giant suitcase behind me. I shifted my tiger print carry-on bag back on top of my shoulder, after it fell into the crook of my elbow.

My pink and grey Supra's shuffled along the tiled floor, bringing me towards bag check and security. The Coffee smell was distant now, and the disinfectant smell intensified.

One bag X-ray and a feel up later I met up with Spencer again on the other side. I could feel tears already start to well up in my eyes. I never thought that one day I would have to leave Spencer. She was my other half. She was my sister. But life just seems to hate me I guess.

I walked over to her and gave her the best smile I could possibly muster up at a time like this. She smiled back, but I knew it was taking everything in her to do so as well. We walked over and sat in the chairs and waited for my flight to board.

"Aurabelle, can you promise me something?" Spencer asked quietly, staring off into the distance.

"Anything." I say, my voice a bit shaky, as I take in my last few moments being in Michigan, my home.

"Please don't forget me.." she says, cutting off her gaze and looking at me with sorrow filled eyes.

"Of course I wont, I'll text you as much as possible and we will never loose touch." I say smiling at her as best as I could.

As the speaker announces "Flight A18 now boarding to London, England."

I got up slowly and look at Spencer. No words were needed. I just pulled my best friend to me and hugged her with all that I could. Tears were rolling down my cheeks as I knew this was the last time I would see her for a long while.

She broke the hug and gives me a weak smile. "Make sure you call me as soon as you land!" She says, tears still evident in her eyes.

"I promise!" I call over my shoulder, as I start to walk towards the gate where my plane is.

As I get closer to the terminal I wipe my cheeks and erased the tears that were falling down them, like a waterfall of sorrow and grief.

I look back and see Spencer standing where I left her. She gives me a small wave. I return it. She smiles, before pivoting on her heels and walking away, towards the entrance of the Airport.

Tears stung at my eyes again, but I refused to let them flow. I needed to be strong, not just for me, but for my mother and Spencer as well.

I turn around again and let out the breath I was holding. I handed the lady at the desk my ticket and climbed aboard.

I shoved my carry-on bag under my seat, after taking out my IPod and phone.

To make up for making me move via airplane, my mom and Robert got me a first class seat, seeing they were already in London, I would have to endure this 8 hour flight myself.

Great.

The air hostess taps me on the shoulder. "Miss, were taking off soon, please remember to turn off all electronics." she says. Her voice is too animated fro my liking, as if she's playing a part in a primary school play.
