Angel
*This is being said by Jungkook, who happened to be your childhood best friend who had feelings for you. However, you end up dying from a rare heart condition and he wants to find a way to express how he feels despite the situation and pain, but is sadly unable to fully explain*
You came and left in an instant.
You were my everything, but you didn't quite know it yet.
My best friend.
My angel.
My soul mate.
That's what you were.
But, you vanished too soon before my heart could fully unload its weight.
I needed you, and I knew deep down you knew that you also needed me.
*A bitter, sweet memory*
"Y/N please don't leave me all alone," as these words left my mouth, you began to sob uncontrollably.
"Kookie...."
As she softly spoke the nickname she made for me, I grasped her hand in my own.
"I know you don't want me to, but my time is up."
The tears kept flowing down my cheeks.
"Y/N, you know I love you right?"
"Of course I do, you're my best friend."
"No, not like that," I shook my head.
I then gazed into her eyes with as much love as I could muster.
"Y/N... I've loved you since the very first day we met."
*Flashback*
Children's joyful screams filled the air. Swings went back and forth with a squeak. The air was crisp and cool just nice enough to wear a light jacket. The sky was clear and blue. A soft wind blew. Children went down the red slide while others swung from the yellow monkey bars. A small line had formed near the teeter-totter. Tall, green trees circled the park. Some daring children hung from their branches. Up, up up, they climbed.
I watched this from afar. I was shy and too scared to join the other kids. I looked back to where my mother was sitting on the bench. She gave me an encouraging smile. Sighing deeply, I took a few steps towards the playground. Two girls ran past me laughter escaping their lips. Looking back again to make sure mom was still there, I walked more confidently towards the playground. No one seemed to notice me as I made my way to the teeter-totter.
I stand in line with the other kids waiting for my turn. Without warning, a boy pushes me from behind, and I sprawled onto the ground. A sharp stick flew across the left side of my face. I sit up and try to blink the dirt out of my eyes. My cheek stings, and a small drop of blood falls onto my hand. A rub the blood off my cheek with the back of my hand as I rise to my feet. Brushing the dirt off my clothes, I try to hold the tears that threatened to spill from my eyes. I knew going to the park was a bad idea. I was better off by myself.
When I finally look up, after successfully keeping the tears in, I'm surprised to see a girl standing right in front of me. Her face looked worried.
"Are you alright?" Her voice reaches my ears as I stand with my mouth agape. A girl is actually talking to me?
My gaze quickly falls to the floor. "I'm fine." My voice is mumbled as I keep my eyes glued to the ground; my shyness immobilizing me.
"No, you're not!" She exclaims, "You hurt your cheek. Wait right here."
