---------Leah---------
I walked down the hallway with my head hung low trying to keep the attraction away from me. Most times in the hallway people try to push me or say something about me. Thats the thing about highschool no one and I mean NO ONE cares about your feelings. They say ANYTHING to make you feel bad for their own amusement and they wont feel bad. They have no regard for anyone's feelings. Thats why its easier to just stay out of peoples way and just wait till highschool endsI continued walking until I slammed against a tall figure. Oh no this cant be good i looked up to see Antonio Lane. Oh no oh no oh no hes going to kill me. Im about to die. I might pee my pants well skirt anyway.
"I'm so sorry I really didnt see you there. See I should have been watching where I was going. Im so clumsy I n-" he cut off my never ending rambling and apology by holding up his hand
"Yeah whatever just watch where your 'goin. " He snarled side stepping me. On his way past me he hit one of my note books out of my hand "You dropped something." He smirked strutting past me.
I watched him in shock as he walked away with all the confidence in the world. He walked up to this girl and started kissing her. Eww.
I turned around and picked my folder up. A random kid that was walking past decided to be a jerk too, he knocked the folder out of my hand causing it to fall to the ground for the second time this morning. This time all of my papers fell out. I sighed and picked up my papers
I walked to first period alread tiered with the day. I sat in my usual seat in the front row taking out my materials
"Good morning Leelah" Mr. Sperduto greeted
"Its Leah but good morning." I smiled
After the bell rang students slowly started swarming into the room.
About twenty minutes into his teaching Mr. Sperduto picked on someone to answer a question. "Mr. Lane do you know the answer to the question?" I looked back to see Antonio Lane the guy that slammed my papers down earlier
"No." He muttered and started drawing on his desk
"Why dont you come up and give it a try" Mr. Sperduto offered
"I said no. No means no" he smirked people laughed around the class room
"Well come up and solve it anyway." Mr. Sperduto demanded in a hard tone
He gingerly stood up and walked to the front of the class. Mr. Sperduto handed him the marker and walked to his desk to take a seat.
Antonio looked at the equation infront of him for a while. Finally he began writing. He wrote a couple numbers and put the marker down
"No Antonio this is wrong. But thanks for trying"
He nodded and took a seat back in the back of the class room and continued drawing "Any one else wanna try to solve this equation? No one? Leelah why dont you come up and solve it."
I froze. No no no ugh why me? I stood up embarrassed and walked to the board. I kept my head low as I took the marker from Mr. Sperdutos hand. I quickly wrote the answer across the board then rushed back to my seat. Mr. Sperduto said "Good job leelah"
The class continued on with me still embarrassed but i paid attention
The bell rang signaling the end of class. "Antonio Leelah come to my desk." I heard Mr. Sperduto say I groaned and picked up my bag, i walked to his desk and stood next to Antonio. "So Antonio I've noticed that your grades arent as well as they could be. Let me be blunt about it, your failing and Its coming close to the end of the second quarter. If you dont want to take your senior year over you will be getting help from Leelah. Antonio I've seen your grades from the past. I know that your capable of doing good you just need a push." His speech ended with a curt nod to our direction
"Mr. Sperduto I don't need no help. If i wanna learn then ill learn and if i wanna do good in school I can." Antonio stated as matter of factly
"I know you can but i also think you might need someone like Leelah she might be able to give you a push because you can do it you just dont want to." He encouraged
"I definitely dont need someone like her. Just cause she does all her work does not make her better than me" he snarled turning toward me looking me up and down with disgust
"I dont think I'm better than anyone and I'm sorry that you feel that way. I never meant to come off that way. I honestly think that God made us equal and he loves all of us the same and im going to stop talking now cause you look annoyed and yeah.." i rambled looking up at him in fear
"Good choice." He muttered rolling his eyes
"Okay.. Either way Leelah is going to be your tutor and thats all." Mr. Sperduto said leaving no room for argument
"Actually Mr. Sperduto my name is Leah and no disrespect but I don't really have mu-" he cut me off before i could even think of an excuse
"I will give you extra credit. Not that you need it but it could come in handy" he offered he's right this could come in handy
"On second thought I could let him come over. A little tutoring wont hurt" I shrugged
Antonio groaned "Fine but only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays"
"I'm busy on Sundays" I murmured
"Then make yourself unbusy" he sneered
"You guys can figure out your scheduling later. Now get to class cause im not giving you a pass" Mr. Sperduto dismissed
"Whatever" Antonio sighed and left the classroom. I rushed after him trying to catch up
"H- hey wait"
He groaned and turned around to face me ''What little one?" He hissed
People walked passed us rushing to class
"We can meet tonight. I mean to study" I nervously said
"Yeah sure." He muttered turning back around
"Wait you dont know where i live" I shouted behind his retreating body
"Ill find it sooner or later!" He hollered over his shoulder but continued walking.
I groaned and walked to my next class. I stepped in right on time.
"Take a seat Leah." My teacher Mr. Stansel said
