GWEN'S POV
"Hey, Gwen," I heard somebody say.
I looked around and saw Sean standing next to me. A smile emerged on my face as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
Ever since the accident, I had promised to give him a chance. I couldn't fully trust him, but I was trying my best to.
I still had my doubts about us, that's for sure. But I loved him so much that once I looked into those dark brown eyes, everything that we had been through, the lies, arguments, pettiness, would all just disappear.
He pulled me close and I melted into him. The warmth of his body, his fresh scent, were a few things that drew me to him.
He whispered," Gwen, I know that you can't trust me yet but can you promise me something?"
My eyes were shut and there was a smile playing on my lips as I buried my face into the soft material of his leather jacket.
I said softly, my voice muffled," Anything."
He pushed my hair out of my face and said," Promise me that you will never give up. That no matter how many challenges we face, you'll stick with me to the end."
He lowered his voice," Can you promise me that?"
So I whispered back," Yeah, in fact, I can."
He pulled back, looked at me with that pair of hypnotizing eyes and said," Good."
" I love you," he said, kissing my forehead.
He flashed me his award-winning smile and strode off towards his friends. But that was the thing I was so unsure about. He was always so confident, so arrogant.
I was okay with that, I mean, I'd put up with that for so many years but the thing that bothered me the most about him was his flirtatious attitude.
I wasn't those clingy girls who stalked their boyfriends 24/7 but it wasn't wrong to keep an eye on him once in awhile.
And just when I had finished thinking about that, he was already winking at a girl from my cheerleading team who was twirling her hair around her finger and batting her false eyelashes sweetly.
My friends were busy with their boyfriends so I just walked over to Sean and whispered into his ear," Watch it, Prince Charming. Don't take my trust for granted."
I then smiled innocently at the girl who was flirting with him before walking off. I walked until I reached the nearby park and nostalgia overcame me.
I used to go there with Sean all the time. Fond memories flooded my mind as I looked at the playground, the field and finally, the rose garden.
Oh, how I loved to go there with Sean.
I walked in and looked around. There was only one spot where red roses were grown and Sean and I had created some good memories there. We spent most of our time there during the last year that we were on talking terms.
He had become the golden boy of our middle school and I was slowly transforming into the girl that he wanted me to be.
In all the wrong ways.
There was a bench there and we had carved our initials into it. I remembered that we were sitting together and he had his arms secured tightly around my waist, our faces just centimetres apart.
He had pulled a red rose out of the bush and placed it behind my ear, stroking my cheek before his hand fell away.
And then his lips had found mine.
A small smile formed on my lips as I reminisced that moment. We were so young, so naive. Unaware of what lay ahead of us.
Carefree spirits, we were.
Just as I walked past that spot and went further into the garden, I saw a couple sitting there.
I didn't pay much attention to them until I saw a tattoo on the girl's arm. And then her hair.
I gasped.
They turned around and her eyes locked on mine.
Her greyish blue eyes widened and she stood up. Her boyfriend had his arm wrapped around her shoulder and followed her when she walked towards me.
" Gwen?" She whispered.
I nodded and said," So you're Anastasia?"
She replied," Yeah, I-" But she never got to finish her sentence because at that moment, I heard somebody shout my name.
I turned around and saw that it was Sean. He jogged forward and immediately said, with protection laced in his tone," Who are they?"
But I couldn't answer him because even I didn't know who they were.
Before Sean could pull me away, Anastasia shot me a look that told me that we had to talk.
Like, really had to.
She said," Lola's Cafe, eleven-thirty. I'll see you there tomorrow."
I gave her a firm nod before Sean took my hand in his and tugged on it gently.
"Let's go," Sean said.
I nodded and turned around to smile at Anastasia before Sean and I disappeared around the corner.
What a unique girl she was.
Without even asking me how I knew her or anything related to the dream, she just blurted out a time, date and location that we needed to meet at.
Very straightforward.
I liked it.
But it was true. We really needed to sit down and have a proper talk with each other. But for then, I settled on letting Sean guide me to his convertible while I tried to clear my mind.
But no matter how hard I tried, the image of that dragon tattoo just wouldn't leave my mind.
