(Y/N) walks away after breaking down in front of Rogue and Frosch.

She shouldn't have done that nor should she have shown weakness in front of her competitors, but this is her master's past self she is talking about, so it is an exception, somewhat. Anyone else and she will have attack them, threatening them to not tell anyone what had happened.

Oh, how the (h/c) haired dragon slayer could remember the teachings and training she had to endure like it is yesterday...How to use her dragon slayer magic. How to hide her emotions. How to let the darkness into her heart.

Flashback

(Y/N) survives her first week of training with her master, Ryos, or as he was formerly known by, Rogue Cheney.

She is wearing a, slightly ripped, (f/c) t-shirt and shorts. Her feet are bare since Ryos has said shoes will only slow her down.

"Never show weakness, even if you are out of energy! Your opponent will be able to sense your vulnerability and use it to their advantage! Now, keep going!" Ryos shouts at his apprentice, an attempt to motivate her. If her progress is not satisfactory, he will use his shadows on her once again.

Sucking up the energy from the shadows around her, (Y/N) blows out.

A black beam of shadows rapidly flys towards the trees around them in the baren forest, "Shadow Dragon's Roar!"

After performing the attack, her (e/c) eyes look up at Ryos, seeking his approval to move on with the lessons, but a shadow blade is sent her way, causing her to fall down into the crater where the roots of a tree are the only remainders left.

Coughing up blood onto the dusty ground, (Y/N) looks down and mumbles, "I am guessing that is not good enough, then?"

He rolls his eyes and picks her up by the collar of her shirt, making her stand back up. Ryos smirks, "Let the darkness consume your entire being. Taint that little light inside of you and make it an eclipse, a sun covered in shadows. That is the only way you will move on, (Y/N)."

Flashback End

Shivering a little bit from the memories of her harsh training, she makes it back to the arena, only to hear her name being announced by the announcers, "Now, for the second battle of the second day of the Grand Magic Games, we have Yuka Suzuki vs. (Y/N)!"

Putting aside the feeling of fright bubbling up inside of her, from having to fight one of her former teammates and close friends, she jumps into the arena.

Glares are exchanged between the two fighters. One of determination  and another of anger. "(Y/N), come to your senses and come back to Lamia Scale! We are your nakama and we miss you. Do not let your anger take you over. You cannot give into the darkness that is consuming your soul!" He pleads, trying to convince his friend to come back to the rightful place she belongs in.

Disappearing into the shadows, then reappearing behind him, she whispers into his ear, smirking, "Too late." His eyes widen as he quickly turns around, but he is too late to even catch a glance of her as he feels himself sliding against the ground. A purple beam of light hitting his back, but it does not go through him.

'I am sorry Yuka, but I have already succumb to the embrace of darkness. I cannot go back to the way I originally was,' (Y/N) thinks, laying her feet onto the arena wall behind her. She propels herself off of it, causing a large crack to appear from the brute force of the strength and energy she uses.

Getting up from the ground, Yuka casts a wave barrier around himself, staying in his place right now, and thinks, 'I will save you my friend, both for the guild's sake and Lyon's. I will defeat you, no matter what, (Y/N)! You will not be in the darkness much longer and will be back in the light where you belong.'

Seeing the young woman's body face the barrier head on was a first, but she ends up getting shocked. She curses under her breath painfully

She flips back a couple of feet from him. He uses this to his advantage. Wave bullets begin firing at her from the barrier.

Shadows form into the shape of a blade inside of her hand. (Y/N) jumps up, throwing the blade at the barrier, but the weapon dissolves into many smaller ones, "Shadow Dragon's Blade Barrage!"

A crack forms onto Yuka's barrier and she smirks in triumph at attempting to, at least, damage the barrier, 'Now, I should be able to break that barrier with my stronger attacks soon!'

But, while she is revelling in her small accomplishment, she is sent flying to the other side of the arena from one of the wave bullets that are shot at her. The ground scratches against her back as she lands. She cannot get up, her whole body feeling paralyzed as if she couldn't move. The energy feels like it is being absorbed from her body.

All she can do is look up at the sky, thinking about everything that has led her up to this current point in time. 'Maybe...Maybe I still have a heart...' The light inside of her starts to lighten from a poisonous shade of purple to a lavender shade.

Letting her (e/c) eyes close, the (h/c)nette lays down, slipping into an unconscious state of exhaustion from having use too much of her magic. It is also from having Yuka's wave magic absorb her own because of the impact as they hit her.

Yuka takes down his barrier and walks over to his friend. He can sense that their battle is only the beginning of getting her back. Even if she is to be on the side of light again, there is still no telling what she will do out of guilt for the sins she has committed.

Picking her up bridal style, the wave mage begins walking to the infirmary as the crowd cheers. The announcers speak over the large speakers inside of the arena, "And the winner is Yuka Suzuki from Lamia Scale!!"
