Excuses - RivailleXReader

You enjoyed walking around camp for no apparent reason; but it was quite pleasing to do so. But there was just something peculiar to it. Every now and the, you hear footsteps behind you, but when you look back, no one's there. Of course it can't be a titan since they can't be that quiet. But even though, it was still a mystery to you...

Until now, at least.

So here you were, _______ _______, walking around with two mirrors with you. One was on your foot to see who makes the footsteps. The other one on your hand, of course, to see who followed you.

 You waited really patiently for the person to come; taking you nearly half an hour to look for the said person.

"Ugh... God, when will they show themselves?" you whispered to yourself as you began to turn right. 

Then you hear it; Footsteps. You began to stand really straight and walk casually. You still kept an eye on your mirrors, making sure to check them every few seconds. You looked at the mirror on your hand.

There was no one there.

Okay, now you were scared. I know you're a soldier and all but still, you felt like Sadako was there to kill you or something. So you then checked the one on your foot, you saw someone crawling down on the floor.

You gave the most sarcastic face you could give. You turned on your heel 180 degrees and looked down.

"... Uh, heicho. What are you doing?" you asked.

Rivaille looked up to you "What the hell does it look like? I'm cleaning the floor." he said as he wiped another spot of the floor.

"This late at night?" you asked.

"You so happened to disturb my sleep when you went to walk around. And when I opened the door,  there was dirt everywhere so I HAD to clean it." he replied back.

You gave a yawn and got the mop beside Rivaille. "Well, I'm tired already... Night, Rivaille Heicho!" you said then put the mop behind you to cover the dirt you made with your boots.

He just looked at you for a while and went back to clean the floor. But instead, he saw Hanji Zoe looking at him with a evil grin.

"Did you really have to make up an excuse just to talk to her personally? Because I think you didn't really need to since she likes you, Rivaille." she said.

"Tch, shut up." he said as he turned his head away in embarrassment.

Hanji sighed and looked back at him. "But look, if you want to get ______'s attention then you should just go to her and say you like her. Think of it how I'd like to get a titan's attention and give it a hug or something~" she grinned.

"Hmph, as if. I don't need your petty help, I can do this myself..." he replied then stood up.

She turned around and walked away. "Suit yourself, but I don't want to see you stalking her tomorrow in attempt to talk to her!"

Rivaille had a faint blush and simply brushed it off.

The next day...

You were eating one-third of a piece of bread and drinking water for breakfast. It wasn't enough, but it was good enough since you were ever-so-kind enough to give two-thirds of your bread to Sasha who looked terrifyingly hungry.

Rivaille was looking at you intensely; not even touching his bread at all. Eventually, Reiner noticed him and nudged at him.

"Hey, you better go for it before someone else gets ______. She's pretty okay, you know heicho." he whispered to him and gave a wink.

Rivaille glared at him. "Shut up, will you?" then he looked back at you but to his surprise, you left already. He frowned and searched everywhere for you, then caught a glance of you leaving already. He then stood up and quickly followed you.

"Hey, ______!" Rivaille called out to you.

You turned around, wondering what he needed since he rarely called you by your first name. "Yea-" you were cut off by Rivaille kissing you (but he had to tip-toe because you were taller than him). 

As soon as he parted away from you, you were speechless. "Wha- wait, what was tha- I can't even- what just happened?".

He just looked away and whispered, " I like you a lot okay... But I only did that just to make sure no one's getting you because you're mine now, ______. Only that, nothing else!" 

You just gave a grin and carried him bridal-style. "Excuses~" you sang as he started complaing how you were really dusty and to let him go.

Extended ending~

Reiner looked at the two of you with wide eyes. And then looked at Hanji Zoe in terror.

Hanji just gave another grin at her and held out her hand. "Pay up."

Reiner just groaned and gave her 10 dollars. "But I was sure Rivaille would top..."

"Heh, but ______ did. And guess who's going to confess in-front of Berthold~" Hanji sang along.

Then he froze up and looked to the other side to see Berthold talking to someone else. "Damn it..."
