Five years down the lane, Anita Bhattacharya was a beautiful lady in her early twenties. She was a very charming young woman. She had a kind of understated beauty, perhaps it was because she was so disarmingly unaware of her prettiness. She was all about simplicity, making things easy, helping those around her to relax and be happy with what they have. Perhaps that is why her skin glowed so, it was her inner beauty that lit her eyes and softened her features. When she smiled and laughed you couldn't help but smile along too, even if it was just on the inside. To be in her company was to feel that you too were someone, that you had been warmed in summer rays regardless of the season.

Anita's life revolved around her mother. Her mother was named Shefali. Her father had left them when she was very small about a year or two; so Anita hardly remembered anything about him. Anita had two maternal uncles, Shyamal and Kamal who were younger than her mother. They gave shelter to their sister Shefali along with little Anita after she has been divorced by her husband. Shefali didn't wish to be a burden on her brother and their wives. So, she started a small home run business of making and selling home-made ladoos. Shefali's extensive dedication to her work made her prosper. Her small business transformed into a huge sweet shop in the town. And she had made a lot of money by selling sweets and moreover her two brothers who are both government school teachers took care of Anita's education.

As a child, Anita studied in one of the schools her maternal uncle used to teach. Anita was a very bright student -quick at Mathematics and had a very strong grip in Language. Her uncle knew about her brilliance and took good care of her education. After completing her Higher Secondary Examinations, she was pursuing English Honours in a government college in their town.

Presently, she was a second year college goer. She was very serious in her studies which reflected in her excellent results in Part-I Honours. Her professors always praised her diligence. Besides, Anita knew well how to keep balance between her studies and household work. She always helped her mother in household chores. She would even take care of her little cousins and would convey little help to her aunts although they would not let her do much. Her both aunts were also very caring and motivated her to work hard in her studies. But Anita was always very grateful to them for their help without which she would not have been able to stand where she stood now.

Apart from them, there was another person in her life -her soul mate, Jayanta. Both Jayanta and Anita loved each other dearly. But Anita's family was orthodox and she knew her uncles would never accept their relation. But does love know any boundaries? Can any discrepancy separate two lovers?
