I sighed as I looked at my Hogwarts letter for this year. I lied down on my bed and looked out the window. Fifth year. Of Hogwarts. I don't think I'm ready.
My name is Albus Severus Potter, 5th year Gryffindor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Yes I am Harry Potter's son. And not the main one either. I have an older brother, James Sirius Potter (the prankster), and a younger sister, Lily Luna Potter (the brains).
I heard a knock on my door and looked up."Come in." I said. My dad walked in and sat on my bed.
"Hey Al." He said. "I heard that Hogwarts letters came in."
"Yup." Was my reply. My dad stared at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Well?"
"Well, what?"
"Did you get prefect?" Dad asked. I shook my head.
"Of course not." Dad sighed. "I'm sorry Al. I know that you're not ready for school yet. Do you want to talk about it?"
"No. I want to sit here, drowning in my thoughts." I said. My dad nodded and left. And drowned in my thoughts I did.

"BOYS! DINNER!" Mum yelled up the stairs. I lifted myself off the bed, and ran to the bathroom to wash my hands. I calmly started to walk down the stairs, when something bumped into me.
"Al!" James said, slinging his arm around my shoulders.
"James, leave me alone." I said, starting to walk away.
"Oh. Someone's in a mood." James replied. I glared at him and kept walking.
"Wait, Al! I didn't mean that." James called, racing after me. "I just want to try out a new spell with you after dinner."
"No James. The last time you tried a new spell 'with' me, I ended up without eyebrows for the next week." I said. James sighed and looked down.
"Sorry. I just thought you would like it, and that it would cheer you up." He said, sadly. Ugh. I know I have complained about James before, but no one likes to see their siblings sad.
"Okay. I'll do it." I replied. James grinned and lightly punched me in the shoulder.
"I knew you would break." He said and ran downstairs laughing. I sighed.
"You know that I can always back out!" I called after him. Then I sighed again. I can't back out of a James anything. He would force me do it anyway. I calmly walked down to dinner and sat down at my spot. Mum passed the mashed potatoes.
"Eat something Al. You can't be sad forever." Lily said as I poked my food sadly. I looked at her.
"Well, I don't feel like it. I worked really hard to get a prefect, and yet I didn't. Why should I eat?" I asked. Lily looked at me skeptically.
"Because you need to be healthy. You're having a major growth spurt after all." Lily replied. Oh Lily. You're always the smart one. And my favorite sister. I started to slowly eat my food after that.

I paced the room as James studied his new spell. He slammed his book shut.
"Done. You ready Al?" He asked. I looked at him.
"Why don't you tell me what the spell is supposed to do before you cast it on me." I said. James sighed.
"It's supposed to take you about an hour back into the past. I just want you to see if it works. Avoid your past self and just wait until the time is up." James explained, and pointed his wand lazily at me. "You ready?"
I nodded and tensed myself as James aimed his wand at me. He started to mutter some things under his breath. All of a sudden, he yelled,
"Tempus Transibit!" James yelled. A golden, sparkling dust like substance surrounds me and all the world goes black.
