After Mother Nature

Chapter 1 :childhood

We are all one year apart so we were born around the same time. And our growing up experience was not so similar to normal people's. So I've heard. Come to think if it we never really saw any other people other than mom, not even our father. Which to this day we don't know who he is and if he still exists. So as you could imagine we were pretty close. Some more than others. But that's not to say we didn't have arguments here and there. But for the most part we were pretty all around loving.

One of my first memories I had was when I was four I think. Lucy and I were running through our big old field we had in the back of our home where we discovered a tree. And not just any tree it was a tree we've never seen before. It was glowing in a sort of way that drew us to it. We ran back home and of course Lucy and I had to inform everyone of our big discovery. When Mom heard us excitingly telling our sisters she came over and asked us where we found it. And willingly we both raced each other to the magic tree as we called it. When mother saw it she immediately recognized it. "You found it!"she shouted. Looking at her with confusion we asked " Found what?". She then informed us that it was her magical tree where she used to rule from. And don't get me wrong she still rules and she is still the one and only mother nature. It's just been a few years since she had ruled from that thrown. That was the first time I truly realised we were different. But even then I still saw us as a perfectly normal family just with a little something extra.

We got our talents when we were all eight. So each year when we turned eight one of us had to learn to control our talents. Which sounds a lot easier than it was. Especially for Holly and I. Holly was the first to be taught since she was the eldest. And since her talent was fire she had to practice and learn to control outside and alone. Same for me. Come to think of it our mother didn't really help any of us. We had to teach ourselves. That's the thing with having such an important mom, she's never around. And even though she was never really around we all loved her unconditionally.

Throughout our childhood days us four got closer to one another. Holly got closer to Ari and I got closer to Lucy. Actually when I think about it me and Lucy were always really close. But for some unknown reason me and Holly never really got along. And i don't know why because every time I saw her I would be so sweet to her and loving but she would always say why are you so nice your so weird. And I would just feel bad. But then one day I walked up to her and I saw she was speaking to mom but I didn't care. I walked to her and right before I could speak I overheard Holly saying "How could u?!" And mom replying "No one must ever find out about her." At the time I didn't really think anything of it I just walked away and sat with Lucy. I never heard of anything like that ever again.

Chapter 2 :School

Now school for us wasn't like the normal school everyone else had. Actually we didn't see it as school at all. We didn't even call it school because we didn't learn the basic subjects like math, science, social studies, and language arts. We called it training because we learned things for basic survival. Like how to read, cook, and my personal favorite self defence. Which is surprising because of my personality. What I mean is I'm more of a kind, caring, and more down to earth than the others if u know what I mean.

And since Holly is the most stubborn, training wasn't so easy for her. But of course me and Lucy were always finding ways to make it fun and still be good at it. We tried to pass that onto Holly but she still wouldn't listen to anything I said. Come to think of it the only one who could really talk to her and not be ignored was Ari. Those two were inseparable as was Lucy and I. Ari was always the ........oh how could I put it.........she was the straight A student as you would say. And since Holly and her were so close of course Ari helped her. So even when training was tough we all had someone we could turn to. Even if it wasn't our mom. Which even though she wasn't here all the time she was always there for us.

Chapter 3 :Us

Throughout our childhood we've faced a lot of struggles. But none bigger than the struggle to figure out who we really were. Growing up without a dad is one of the worst things. Even for a daughter of a magical being. Because without a dad we were confused about who we bought we were. But we've had each other and we've helped us to discover ourselves. So let me officially introduce us. The four daughters of Mother nature.

First off there is Holly, the eldest. As you already know she is the stubborn one of the four. But that's not all that's to her. She very intelligent, helpful, and even sensitive. Even though she never shows it. And even though she doesn't she it, she is beautiful. She has long, dark brown, straight hair that flows with her fire. And surprisingly her hair doesn't fry. Also she has electric blue eyes that could scorch you. And since her talent is fire it can't burn or hurt her. So she wears clothes made of fire because why not. And for some reason I feel she is hiding something that she is not yet ready to unfold.

Next there is Ari, the second eldest. She's the brainiac of the group. But she's not stuck up or anything like that. She can actually be really funny...... When she wants to be. But you'll never catch her being sarcastic. In fact she hates sarcasm. She is also beautiful. She has shiny, silvery, short hair that fits her personality perfectly. She has very vibrant green eyes. And is the tallest of the group. But if I'm being completely honest .......she usually takes charge instead of Holly even though she's the second eldest.

Thirdly there is Lucy. One of the middle kids. And she is certainly something. Not only was and is she my best friend for life but she is the most energetic and enthusiastic person I will ever meet. And me and her see that as a gift. I could use a whole dictionary to describe her but I'll just paint a picture for you. She has short - medium length hair. That is strikingly dark black. And her sparkly silver eyes accentuates her beauty perfectly. She is the type of girl where if you're feeling down you can always count on her to crack a joke......even when its not exactly the time for it.

Lastly there I am. The youngest of the group. I would call myself the baby of the family but we never grew up in a way where that was taught to us.
