Chapter 1
Maria's POV
Some people have said I couldn't do it. But looking around me now, I guess they were wrong. I was surrounded by Youtubers from all over the world and by the way they were treating me, I felt like... I belonged.
Suddenly a pair of hands slowly curved their way around my waist making me jump. But from the feel of his body against mine, I knew I didn't need to be worried. It was my boyfriend. I turned my head sideways and looked into his lovely brown eyes.
"Hey babe," Dan whispered into my ear, his dark brown hair hiding his left ear slightly.
"Hi," I said leaning back into him. It's been a long day and I was so tired. I couldn't wait to go home and just sleep. And sleep. And sleep.
"How was your day?" Dan asked turning me 180.
"So much better now that you're here," I said blushing slightly at my embarrassing line.
"That's what I like to hear," He winked at me before leaning in for a kiss.
It was early days, but so far it's been going great. Us being considerably different just made it more interesting. We were both Youtubers, just Dan, also known as 'Danisnotonfire', was a full time Youtuber, and I'm also at uni, so I have to be part time. He asked me out 2 month ago and I was so glad! I've always had a secret crush on him, and I told my best friend Leah who obviously had to tell him. I was so pissed at her! But it didn't last very long, because a few days later he asked me out and I was the happiest girl on Earth!
So we've been taking it slow, but I like it. Otherwise things that start in a rush, end in a rush. And I wasn't about to let him go.
Today was my first Vid Con event and I've just met all my fans, so I was feeling very flustered. It's so unbelievable! All them 3 years ranting into a camera about socks, traffic and other random subjects actually paid off. It's strange to think that people actually think I'm funny, because I'm not. Well I don't know.. I don't think I am. But then again you're your own harshest critic, right?
We were on a trip to LA, for the Vid Con, and we haven't really gotten to explore that much, but we have another few weeks, and tomorrow, well today since it's past midnight, all I want to do is sleep.
"Are you okay?" Dan laughed at my tired body.
"Ugh no, I'm not," I frowned at him, "You are going to have to carry me to the car." I was joking but I was hardly surprised when he bent down, and put his arm around my legs, going for the bridal lift. I giggled but didn't struggle. I was too tired too.
"Is that better Princess," Dan said empathising the word 'princess'.
"Shut up," I laughed and playfully punched him.
"You know you love it, " He laughed and tickled the back of my knees.
"Dan!" I squealed and tried to get his arms of me, but I couldn't.
"Okay, haha I'm sorry babe, in you get, " He said and only just now I noticed the breeze of the wind attacking my bare skin, after all I was only wearing shorts and a top! I expected more of you California.
Slowly he laid me down on the backseat and put the blanket, that we always kept in the car around me. I felt his arms leave me and I longed for his presence almost instantly, but he put his head down and gently kissed me on the lips before closing the door and getting in. I blacked out soon to the gentle melody of Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin.
Okay guys, ugh I'm slightly cringing at this but don't worry I promise it'll get better as I bring new characters into the story. And it's very short but Leah told me to hurry up so hahah! Please leave a comment and maybe a vote?
