Chapter 5

I couldn't believe all the shit that was happening; Majesty turned out to be a for real asshole, but I should've known, though," Once a hoe always a hoe. " But I'll be good, though. I went to work, as usual; Ms. Rowes was back. So I was back to my normal job assisting her with the children. I wasn't feeling the day. I just wanted to be at home watching the Crosby Show. At recess, Leslie ran up to me, "Hey Ms. Artis." I looked at her and smiled, "Hey Leslie is there something you need?"

"No," she twists her beautiful little ponytail around her finger then said," I know you, my big sister."

"Really? So dad told you I'm your sister?"

"Yeah, he sat me down yesterday, he said that he wasn't a good daddy to you. so I thought I'd come say sorry for him because he's a great dad and sweet."

"He was playing he's a great dad to me," I couldn't believe I just lied to her, but she doesn't need to see him in a bad way, right?

"Ok," she said running off to finish playing with her friends.

The day shot by and I was glad as hell too because I had a lot of shit on my mind. So I quickly got into my car and headed to the nearest grocery store. As I was walking down the frozen food aisle; I saw this little family and it made me think I honestly do want a family. Mane why is it so hard for a single BLACK WOMAN to get a man? Someone tapped my shoulder, " I know that you don't know this, but somethings aren't meant to be said out loud." I turned to see a tall guy with some beautiful dark brown eyes, skin a beautiful shade of tannish yellow, and lips so full and the perfect color pink. I was a little star struck; he looked like a perfect Camden Cole model. He snapped his fingers in front of my face, "Hello earth to Pretty Girl!"

"Uh... I'm here sorry I was thinking about something, but you're right I should've kept that to myself."

"Well honestly, I thought I should answer your question properly maybe over some coffee." I want to say no then again what could an intellectual conversation hurt. "Sure let's go to Sir Coffee Shop across the street, cool? "

"That's fine it's my treat; if you don't mind when I ask someone out, I like to pay."

"Well isn't that the proper thing to do, I'll check out and meet you across the street, ok?"

"Sounds like the plan," then I turn down the ice cream aisle grab a tub of my favorite Velvet Trails then head for the express check out line.

Once at the Sir Coffee Shop. I waited for the guy to show up. Then I started thinking, *What if this is a setup?* *I'm I going to get kidnapped, and raped?* *Oh shit! maybe murdered.* I knew then I had to get out of there fast; so being me I grabbed my purse and was headed for the exit but before I could walk out he was walking in, he smiled damn showing those lovely teeth. "You want to go ahead and order," he asked pointing toward the order counter. I hesitated, "Uh.. yeah sure."
He followed behind me closely I feared more for my life. The cashier who seemed to be having a great day greeted us with a cheerful, "Hello and Welcome to Sir Coffee Shop! What may I get you today?"

"I looked at the menu, well can I get a strawberry flavored ice coffee," I asked not sure if they make it because one I didn't read the menu and I don't drink coffee without chocolate or strawberry flavor. She had a smile that wasn't believable as she began to input the price on the cash register, "Yes you can, will that be all," she looked at me without the cheerful gleam this time. Then he spoke up," Uh yeah can I get a mocha espresso with cream and chocolate shavings?"

"Yes sir, right away," she quickly put his order in and gave Me the receipt. He handed her the black card; she had a look on her face "like whatever " but on the inside, I knew she felt stupid. I shot a quick grin and walked straight towards the table. He pulled my seat out; I didn't want to sit, I still felt a little insecure about this, but sat anyway. He quickly started our conversation off, "I'm sorry, but I can't stand when cashiers do that make assumptions of shit they have no clue about." I just nodded as he continued, "They just assume that since women do everything for themselves, they have to pay for everything when they out with a guy."
