I'm going WHERE?!

"You're joking"

"Scarlett, I'm sorry but you're parents specifically said in their will that if something happened to them that you go live with your Aunt Martha" The policeman sitting in my hospital room says to me.

I've been here for a week now and it has sucked. All my friends have come to see me but it hasn't really helped. I still miss my parents.

"That's so dumb! I don't even have an Aunt Martha!" I'm starting to loose my temper.

"Yes you do. Its your Dad's sister."

This is crazy. Why did they never tell me I had an aunt? What else had they been keeping from me??

I finally had to give in. There was no swaying this guy. "Ok fine. What street does she live on?"

"Um...Your aunt lives in London" The officer says. He's kind of quiet. Must be afraid of my reaction.

"WHAT?!?! This is insane. I can't leave my friends. I can't leave my boyfriend, my school. NO! I'm a senior!! You can't do this. This isn't fair. I have a life you know and I'm not moving to freaking LONDON! You can't make me. I can't believe you would even think that I would be okay with tha-"

The officer cuts me off "I'm sorry, Miss Vernon, but you legally cannot live on your own until you are 18. And since you don't have any family that lives anywhere near here. There is nothing I can do. You leave in two days." And with that he leaves the room without another word.

I sit there stunned. I can't believe I'm moving....I've lived in South Carolina my whole life. I can't just leave..not now.

A few minutes later the nurse walks in a discharges me. I pack up my things and catch the bus. I need to head to Chase's house..I need to tell him. He needs to be the first to know.

I'm just so scared at how he'll take it. Will he break up with me? Get mad? Cry? The bus pulls up to the nearest bus stop. I hop off the bus dreading the walk for the next half mile to his house.

About ten minutes later, I arrive at his door. I hesitate for a minute before I quietly knock on his door. Chase opens in with a smile. He gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, Babe, what's up?"

"Chase, we need to talk."
