After what seemed like years, the plane touched down in London. I grab my carry-on real quick and hurry out. The airport is huge and I have no idea where to go.
I stand and look around for a few minutes 'til I see more people getting off the plane.
"They look like they know where their going" I think to myself as I see a few buseinessmen in suits walking off the plane. I follow them up to baggage claim. I watch all the suitcases come onto the lift but I don't see mine. I wait for about 45 minutes when I realize that it's not coming.
Fantastic.
I walk to the counter and report it missing. The lady at the counter said it could take up to two weeks. This is not how I wanted to start my new life. I sigh and thank her. Inside I was really mad but it wasn't her fault. I make my way out of her office and head toward the escalator.
As I round the top of the escalator, I look around for an old woman. No one is really catching my eye until I see a man standing about 35 feet away from me. He's wearing a black suit and a chauffeur hat. I look at him for a second, then I see that he's holding a sign that says "Scarlett Vernon."
Well, this is new.
I walk over to him and introduce myself.
"Oh yes, Ms. Vernon! My name is Wesley! I will be your driver while you are here!" He beams in a deep British accent.
"What about my Aunt?" I ask, kind of weirded out. I'm not used to a driver. I usually rode my bike everywhere back home. I had a car, I just didn't really want to use it. I like fresh air.
He looks nervous at my question, "well...uh.. she's working now.." Wesley answers hesitantly.
Is my aunt rich? Sweet!
"Oh. Well where does she work?" I question. I'm actually really curious now.
He looks at me with his bright blue eyes. "I might let her explain that." He says while giving me a suspicious smirk.
I stay silent after that. I didn't really have an answer to his response. What could my aunt do that was so secretive? I could tell that my Aunt was important but I wanted to figure out why. Wesley led me to a big black limo parked in front of the airport. He opens the door for me and I step in.
Hopefully all my question would be answered tonight when I met my mysterious Aunt Martha. Little did I know that it would be a bigger shock than I realized.
