A decision to make

I'm following Daryl for more than 10 minutes now without saying anything to each other. I don't have a clue where we are anymore so if he's a psychopath who's trying to kill me, I will not be able to run to somewhere safe because there are only trees and grass. But I don't think he's anything like a psychopath. I just realise that he doesn't know my name. 'I'm Ella.' I say. He turns his head to me, nod and turns his head back again. I thought he was going to ask me some more questions, but it seems like he's not interested. I look at his back and he has a short vest on with angel wings on it and he's also wearing that crossbow around his neck. 'Were you an archer, before all of this?' I ask him. 'No.' He said without even looking at me. I have the feeling he doesn't like to be questioned so I keep following him to where he's leading me.

We're out of the woods and I see a large gate, there are wrecked cars and suddenly I see someone of 'them', a walker how Daryl calls it. He has a large stick into his body what keeps him stuck. We walk by the walker and Daryl doesn't even look at it. But I do, and so does the walker. He's aching for me, to take me and eat me while I'm still alive. But he can't now, so I just keep walking. Suddenly, I hear the sounds of guns loading. I look up and see 2 men pointing their fire guns at me. 'Who's this?' Some of them ask with a creepy tone in his voice. 'She's with me, just open the damn gates.' Daryl forces the men. I hear one of them moaning and then I see that the doors of the gates are opening. Daryl gestures that I have to come with him and that's when I enter the place that's behind the gates.

The two men closes the gates again and are watching me from the bottom of my body to the last hair that's on my head. I look around and I see what I haven't seen in a long time and that I thought I would never see again. There are houses everywhere where people are actually living in and there are people everywhere and talking to each other. I follow Daryl to where he's going. I see children playing and having a good time. We stop by a house where there are no people for once. 'Stay here.' Daryl says. But I wasn't planning to go in the house anyway. Daryl goes to the door and knocks at it. A couple seconds later I see a man opening the door with a baby in his arms. I haven't seen a baby in years, so I was in shock to see something ''new''. The man has dark brown hair, maybe 5 ft tall and has just shaved himself because I can see the scars from shaving  his face. I hear Daryl talking to the man but I can't hear it because it's too quiet. While Daryl is talking to the man with the baby still in his arms, the man keeps his eyes on me and is watching me. I get a nervous feeling so I just look away. I hear them moving. The man lays the baby in front of the door and the baby plays with the ball that was already laying there. The man comes to me and is standing right in front of me now. I'm Rick,' he says. 'And that's Judith right there.' He points his head to the baby in front of the door that is still playing with the ball. 'I'm Ella.' I answer back. 'You're welcome to stay, but that decision is not only made up to me.' I nod slowly. 'The woman who keeps this town save is Deanna. Daryl will lead you to her house to have a chat with here. After you're done, I'll see you again.' 'Okay.' I say. 'Welcome to Alexandria, Ella.' He says with a little smile. Now Daryl is the one who comes closer and gives me a tick in my back telling me to go. Not so far from the house where I just met Rick, I see a house that's bigger and nicer than all the other houses that are here. The door is open and Daryl doesn't say anything so now I do go in just like Daryl. We enter the hall where there are only stairs. We go up on the stairs and we're standing in front of a door. 'Wait here, I'll explain why you're here.' Daryl says. I nod at him. He knocks at the door and I hear a woman's voice saying 'Come in.' So Daryl opens the door a little bit and goes in. And again, I hear them talking but not loud enough. Suddenly the door opens and Daryl gestures that I have to come in. When I enter the room, Daryl walks out again. So I'm in a room with a lot of paintings, 2 large chairs, a coffee table and a sofa where a blond haired woman is sitting in and grinning at me. 'Hello, Ella, have a seat.' Says the woman, who probably name is Deanna because Rick told me. I never told her my name. So either way, Daryl told her or they really are psychopaths and they were expecting me and planning awful things to do with me. I take my backpack of my back and lay it next to the chair where I'm going to sit in. I see behind the sofa where Deanna sits in a camera. Suddenly Deanna rises and goes to the camera that I just noticed. 'Do you mind that I'm filming our interview?' Why the hell does this woman wants to record me so that's why I ask 'Why?' 'I always film the new people.' She says. She clicks on the button and I see the red button going on. So that means the camera is recording me right now. Deanna sits in the sofa again and looks at me. 'Daryl says he found you, is that right?' She asks.

'Yes.'

'Where were you before Daryl found you.'

'Nowhere.'

'You were alone?'

I nod.

'Don't you have family? Like your parents, brother or sister? Maybe an aunt?'

'I had.'

'What happened?'

These questions are getting on my nerves and it's starting to make me mad. I look back at the camera who's still recording me because the red button is still flashing. Then I look back at Deanna.

'This.' I answer.

'You mean the virus killed your family?'

'Why does these questions matter?' I ask angry.

'I need to know you. I have to know who you are and that includes your past.' She says friendly.

'Well, the past doesn't matter now these days do they?'

'I understand why you act like this.' She says.

'I don't think you do.' I answer back.

'And why is that?' She ask me.

I begin to laugh sarcastically.

'Look at this place, this place is like everyone's dream who's still out there surviving, starving and losing people! I think you don't know what that's like. You were already here from the beginning, were you? Have you ever been out there? Huh? Have you ever had to run for your life? Killing walkers? Killing people?!? No! So don't say you understand me because you don't have a clue what I had to do to survive.'

Deanna stares at me for a while and so do I. 'You're right,' she begins. 'I don't know how it is out there. But I do understand the people the emotions that the people have and had to deal with. So, I take them in. That's all I can do to help them.' I don't know what to say anymore so I just keep my mouth shut. Deanna rises again, goes to the camera and now I see the red button stopping from flashing. 'You had a rough day, I'll lead you to your new house. It's just a house for you only.' I take my backpack and follow Deanna outside to the house where I'm going to spend the night in or the rest of my life. I haven't decided if I'm going to stay. But Daryl wants to know it tomorrow. I'm following Deanna and I see people staring at me. Wondering who I am. We arrive at a house and it looks the same like the house where probably Rick lives. But I think all the houses here are the same, except the one of Deanna. Deanna grabs something out of her pocket and she gives it to me. 'This is your key,' she says. 'I hope you like the house.' 'Thanks.' I say. 'If you need anything, you know where to find me.' I nod and give her a little smile. That's the least I can do after I yelled at her. Deanna turns around and leave. I look at the house for a while before I step in. I unlock the door with the key Deanna just gave me and I open the door. I step in and close the door. I see everything like a normal house should have. The first thing I see is a sofa, a coffee table and a TV. Next to the living room, is the kitchen. I go to the kitchen and I open the cabins. There's not much in it, but I think enough for tonight if I won't stay. Between the living room and the kitchen, there's a stairs. I go on the stairs and I am on the second and last floor. There are 3 rooms. The first room I enter is the bathroom with a toilet. The second room is a big room where there's a bed and a closet. The last room there is, is also a room where there's a bed but smaller than the other bedroom. So for to spend the night, I will choose the biggest bedroom (obviously). I go back to the bedroom that I've chosen. I lay my backpack next to the bed. I go lay on the bed and put my arm under me head. And I just lay here for a long time, thinking I should stay or go out there again. And I keep thinking, and thinking, and thinking,...
