My first day at UNC felt so different then my days in high school. I felt a complete change in my life, but the next day I fell in love with the school. I met so many nice people and one of the nicest was this boy named Dave Werry and yes he is now my husband.
My soccer season there started really early. We started training earlier than I had expected too. My teammates were like a family to me, they were so nice and I could trust them with everything. My coach was the best too. We had many laughs together. Each practice and game we had, we got closer and closer. And that's basically why I feel in love with college. It was because everyone was so supportive to me and everyone else.
The first game was also one of the best days of my life. I even scored which made it even better. There were so many people supporting UNC also which made it even better. We ended up winning the game 3-1 so I was pretty much screaming my head off and whatever.
The next game was against Penn State and it was a pretty tough match. From the start they were killing it. This one defender, Ali Krieger, who I had no idea who she was until now. She is one of the best defenders, and also is one of my best friends now (#okriegers nails). We held our own for a while, but they scored around the 30th minute. We were getting really nervous later on because we knew we needed to score. We had some really nice plays though.
Around the 75th minute I passed to my teammate and she blasted it in the net from about 25-30 feet out. It was truly an amazing goal. The final score was 1-1 and we were all good with a tie. We were all so proud of ourselves and so proud that we kept fighting until the very end and that's what we learned from right then and there.

The next day was so exhausting because the game ran so late and I had classes the next day. Thank god that my first class was right by my dorm. What made my day much more exhausting was that we had practice, but it was okay because our team needs to keep working on shots, passing, and all that stuff that could've help us get a win yesterday. We all worked so hard that we could barely feel our feet, which was good and bad at the same time.
The next game we had, I believed we played outstanding. Our touches, passes, shots, and everything else was great. I ended up putting two in the net and had one assist. From that practice we not only proved that we were the best, we showed that we believe in each other and can trust each other which is really helpful to have out on the field. I am so thankful that my coach had us practice really hard because hard work shows up in the end.
