~All the lovely ones leave~

I guess I should apologize to you, but then again I didn't want this either. We were going to have it all or so we thought oh well everyone loves a tragedy was it really a tragedy  though did you really mean what you said when you thought I was gone. I guess instead of apologizing I should let you know. I'm still here  , I didn't let go.

"Sophia!" My eyelids flutter open at the sound of my name."You better hurry up or your going to be late for school and Charlie's going to eat all of your breakfast!" I squint at the foreign  sun shining brightly through my dark curtains.

"Did ya save some for me you little stinker"  I exclaim as I make my way down the stairs after my morning routine. He shakes his tiny head as he hides my plate of food. Charlie Heaton. My younger  7 year old adorable brother not my only sibling. Jessica Heaton almost 15 years old. Then there's me the first born a result of a night full of drinking and bad mistakes. Sophia Heaton quiet girl small group of friends had it all planned out and is  going to achieve every goal starting with med school.

"Where's Jess?" I ask my mom as my dad walks in smelling of his strong  musky aftershave.

"Already left early project she said" she softly responds.

"Or early meet up with Jacob underwood oooo" Charlie exclaims while around with his hands on his back pretending to make out with someone. I chuckle at him as I chew on a piece of toast.

"Should I be worried about this boy?" My dad asks while scrunching his eyebrows together?

"Come on Charlie we should go or you'll be late" I avoid his question and quickly grab my keys while making sure Charlie has everything he needs for school as my mom says her goodbyes.

"Have a great day live it like it's your last" I exclaim as he climbs out of the back of my small affordable car in front of the elementary school. He throws up a secret symbol and sticks his tongue out before running to join his friends.

"Sooo party on Friday at Samuel's house you goin ?" Ari asks. Ari Lancaster 5 foot 5 smart girl but dosent like working so naturally bribes every teacher to pass her. Her mom is also the principal of the school. She slams my locker door shut and we walk to the gym for a mandatory meeting for some reason.

"Um rain check there's the trig test on Monday taking the weekend to study besides Jess has a soccer game and Charlie has a robotics meet Sunday and I promised them I wouldn't miss it can't be hungover for it either" I explain quietly as we walk side by side to the gym.

"Come on Soph you never have any fun you should just let go all you ever think about it Med school and spending time with your family I mean what teen likes their family any way" I laugh at her usual remark whenever I turn her down. "Your's is pretty chill I know I know we've been over this" I close my mouth and grin at her as she guessed at exactly my next remark.
We quickly take a seat next to the rest of the small group of our friends.

"Hey guys party at samuels on Friday who's in"Kourtney  asks with a wide smile.

"Not soph!" She shoots me a small glare to show her annoyance, " but I am who else is going?"

"Well me of course, and um I'm pretty sure the rest of us are except for Sophia I guess"

"Alright settle down this morning we are meeting to address some of the issues coming up inside this school system"

For the rest of assembly I turned to my trig book trying to drown out the plan making for Friday night.

"Are you sure you don't want to go Friday we could always use a designated driver soph I mean what's the worse that could happen?"

In a split second I ran into you. I didn't know it would change it all. Maybe that's where the apology is due although in that moment there were plenty of apologies given.

"I'm so sorry I'm terrible of looking where I'm going" his voice was sweet like a small butterscotch and smooth like honey.

"Yeah no um I'm the same way sorry"

I knew then as I looked into your eyes that I should run , but you had a hold on me you see and I knew in that moment that I wouldn't let go. I kept that promise to myself I guess.
