Chapter Two: Lunch with the lawyer

I sat in a fancy restaurant with Parker I was telling him about my plans.

“So why are you doing this?” he asked

“Well my friend Daniela took her life because of her class mates bullying her because she liked the same sex, the thing is nobody noticed that she was gone and nobody cared. And when I went a talked to the bullies the first thing they said when I said her name was ‘Oh she’s the Lezzie’. The school never did anything about her bullying no matter how many times me or Daniela’s mother went into talk to them. But the thing that got me started on this was when I saw Daniela’s dead body, I want to make sure no one else had to go through what she went through.” I told him

“How are you related to Daniela?” he asked

“I’m not; I met Daniela at the hospital one day at work. I work with mental disabled people. I passed her room that day she was sitting in a room pale and scrawny with tubes attached to her wrists and scares on her wrists from cutting. I went in to talk to her; she was only 14 at the time. We connected instantly I came from the same past as her I knew what she was feeling.” I told him

“Oh so you’re a… you know…” he stated

“Oh no, I’m not lesbian. I was severely bullied all through high school.” I told him

      “Oh, what for?” he asked

“I was fat and huge nerd.” I mumbled

“Seriously?” he asked and I nodded

“I was two years ahead of everyone in my grade, I got my doctor degree at 19 and started working at a hospital at 20.” I told him

“Wow, we are kind of the same you know. I was 2 years ahead of everyone in my grade too. I became a lawyer at 21.” He told me with a smile

“Nice how old are you now?” I asked him

      “23 ½” he told me

“You’re only a year and a half older than me.” Told him with a smile

“How was lunch with the lawyer?” Mary asked me

      “Good.” I told her

“So what’s the plan?” she asked

“First we’re going to court with the school, then the bullies and lastly the police for not doing justice for basically harassment and murder.” I explained

“Good, but how are we going to get this to the public?” she asked

“Oh I called Washington post and invited them to do a story on this and come and watch the trials.” I told her

I walked into Middleburg’s high school hopefully for the last time. I walked into the main office area and looked for the “Principal” office, when I saw it I swung the door opened not even knocking. He gave me a startled look when he saw me.

       “Hello “Principal”.” I sneered

“Hello Ms. Farewell.” He greeted “We’ve done everything we could to stop Daniela’s Bullying problem.” He told me and I scoffed

“No need Principal she’s dead and you never did anything.” I told him

      “I hav-” he started

“Don’t even feed me that bullshit.” I told him

“Every day Daniela came home from school I asked her if you talked to the kids and everyday she said no.” I added

“Oh and I’m suing you and your school for lack of justice and no punishments for unacceptable behavior, did you know they use to hit her not only with their hands but with books and rulers.” I stated bluntly and sneered hit

I stormed out of the school very aggravated. But I was cheered up at the sight of reporters out front of the schools doors.

“Ms. Farewell! Is it true your suing the school.” Someone asked

      “Yes.” I answered professionally

      “What for?” someone asked

“For lack of justice and no punishments for unacceptable behavior.” I told them

“You are all welcome to join me at court on the 7th.” I told them as I left.

Publicity Check I thought and drove home
