As the captain today was a slow day. Not much was happening besides some meeting all the women shinigami were having. I didn't plan on attending; it was pointless. I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes taking in the peace and quiet of my office.

"Captain (l/n)." Said someone knocking at my door. It was Toushiro Hitsugaya.

"Come in." I said puzzling myself. He was really the first person I allowed into this room since I became captain. This better be important.

"I hope I'm not interrupting you." He said upon entering.

"Nonsense I was doing nothing." I reassured him.

"Are you settling in nicely?" He asked holding a stack of papers in his hands.

"Great thank you for asking. You and the other captains have been very helpful." He nodded his head and sat the stack on my desk.

"I'm sorry but here are some more papers." He apologized laughing slightly. I, however, was not amused.

"Alright I will have them to you by the end of the day." I said already having a pen ready.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but take a break." He said stopping before leaving. "I see you rarely leave this office and come in early in the morning. Your performance is outstanding so there is no need to overwork yourself."

I watched him leave stunned. Was he worried for my well being? Of course not. What was I thinking. We don't even know each other that well and only as comrades. Work partners. I shook my head clearing it so I could work. He was right though. There were bags under my eyes and I was barely able to hold my pen right. The lack of rest my body was getting started to affect me. I started on the first sheet and worked my way down, and in no time finished. Die I had nothing else to do I might as well to train. Fighting my give my body a wake up call.
I made my way to the woods where hollows are frequent and pulled out my zanpukto, Amaterasu. She was a powerful sword but in many ways a complete opposite of me. As expected I was surrounded not too long after I entered. They were all very weak but had enough arrogance to think they could take a captain, but they probably didn't know any better. When Amaterasu was in her shikai form she took an interesting shape. The blade became jagged and went in a zig zag like pattern, but that didn't depreciate the strength.

"Burn Amaterasu." I said and the blade erupted in flames making the blade bend in its unnatural state. As per usual the hollows mocked my sword and attacked mindlessly. Before I was even able to attack another shinigami took that opportunity killing the hollow in one hit.

"I was unaware you were out here captain Hitsugaya." I said my tone of voice not matching the expression on my face.

"I told you Toushiro was fine, but to answer your question I simply felt tour reiatsu out here and got curious." He answered. "Are you alright?"

Cutting down the hollow behind him I nodded my head. They were weak but thankfully they weren't menos. Easily I could take one out but not before it caused mass destruction. It took maybe thirty seconds for me and captain Hitsugaya to finish the rest off.

"What were you doing out here?" He asked.

"I got bored." I answered in a monotone voice.

"Bored? Aren't you going to that meeting-"

"No. I see no point in it." I interrupted not needing to hear the rest.

"Alright. Well I'm about to grab something to eat, would you like to go with me?" He offered turning back towards soul society.

"Why not?" I followed him back to a small but comforting restruant. We sat across from each other waiting to order. I took off my jacket not wanting to spill food on it and grabbed my drink.

"I finished those papers you handed me; if you'd like we can walk over to my office to retrieve them." I told him breaking the silence.

"Thank you also sorry for dumping more work onto you. You just became captain and there is alrwady so much to do." He apologized.

"It is quiet alright. I expected as much to happen after the previous captain left abruptly." Our food came not too long after our short conversation and we dug in.

"I thank you for the meal captain Hitsu-i mean Toushiro. It has been a while since I've eaten a whole meal." I thanked him.

"That's is not good captain (l/n). Our job requires a lot of energy and if you continue to neglect your body you will collapse." He warned and I nodded my head. He was right. I was pushing myself too hard and if I got sick I would only be more of a burden.

"Also call me (y/n). If I am to be informal with your name then it is only right if you say my first name as well."
