"what a damn surprise, you got the part!" i exclaim, clapping ever so slowly. "i didn't think you would," i added sarcastically.
ophelia ran off the stage and immediately buried me in a tight hug. "how was your trip?" she asked, taking a hold of my hand.
"really great, i got you some gifts as well."
"oh my god, lemme see!"
"go finish rehearsals first," i giggle, pushing her away.
"okay, by the way... glad you're back loser."

"ladies and gentlemen mrs. and mr. caley need to announce something!" someone wearing a headset exclaimed, waving his arms around. everyone gathered and sat in the seats of the theater. ophelia and i sat at the edge of the stage, looking up at her parents.
"yes, thank you steve," her mother said quickly. "a company will be buying our theater."
gasps around the room sporadically traveled. everyone was so shocked and ophelia looked like she was going to pass out.
"but don't worry!" mr. caley said. "we will still be in charge. all we want to do is get this place fixed up, get it all sorted out. no worries. the ceo of the company that is buying our theater will be arriving tomorrow morning. i need everyone in their best behavior! emilia, i'll need you to show him around. ophelia, you'll help demonstrate precisely what we do here—"
"—i'm not sure if i could do that, jim." i interrupt him, before adding, "i have an art show."
"well–just make it, darling." mrs. caley remarks, smirking. i rolled my eyes at her. but, it's alright. we have this kind of relationship, it's all good.
"i'll try, homie."
