Chanyeol never told me their family owns a beach resort in Hawaii. I only knew it then when his mom suddenly asked me how I find the place. The water is as blue as it could get and the sand feels like feather against my feet.
"It's like paradise." I answered as I felt my gaze gets lost as every wave hits the shore.
Mrs. Park beamed. "We plan on building a restaurant at the center of the sea. The floor would be made of thick glass so you'll see the water underneath. How would that sound?"
I frowned. "You own this place?" I can't help asking.
It's Mrs. Park's turn to frown and she looked at Chanyeol in question. "You didn't tell Baekhyun?" she asked and she sounds almost annoyed. "How could you not tell your boyfriend where you're taking him?! That's so irresponsible of you, Chanyeol!"
"He never asked, Mom." Chanyeol defended, rolling his eyes.
"I honestly didn't ask," I said, trying to prevent an argument. "But it's nice knowing you own such a place. It's beautiful." I flashed one of by brightest smiles and Mrs. Park's glare vanished in a split second.
"Thank you, Baekhyun dear." she wrapped an arm around mine. "Come. I'll let you meet the staffs." she giggles as she led me to an all white building with vines crawling on every side and windows decorated by just every flower I know and don't know. I was not lying when I told them it's a paradise.
So basically, the place is a beach with white sand and crystal blue waters that reflect the sun's angry rays. The weather is hot and I could feel beads of sweat traveling down the curve of my back and the bridge of my nose. Chanyeol stayed close beside me and occasionally points out spots we could visit the moment we have our things fixed and when we're rested.
The theme of the white building is anything vintage. The tiles are made of polished wood so shiny you could almost see yourself reflected on it. I tried to absorb everything from the giant vintage chandelier, to the couches, displays, and mirrors that cover almost every wall.
Soon enough, a young American woman with her skin tanned and her hair a natural shade of blonde approached us. She's wearing a floral beach dress that stops just over her knees. She's really tall. Maybe even an inch taller than me and when she stopped to greet us, her gaze lingered on Chanyeol for a second longer than normal.
Mrs. Park still has her arm around mine when she introduced the girl to me. "Baekhyun, I would like you to meet Lara Sanders, the manager of the resort. Her family's a very good friend of ours and she's Chanyeol's friend back in grade school."
