"I need her to be alive... for him..." Sage mumbled through a mess of her own tears. "Please be alive." The man didn't know what to do. He's helping some stranger that he didn't even know. She could be a danger to him.
Why was Sage accepting help from a stranger? He could be a threat to her and Lizzie. Hell, Sage was thinking about ripping herself away from his grip, but she couldn't. It was too tight. She was too weak to search alone. Her thighs and arms aching, her head pounding.
"Stop," the male insisted. He didn't care about her, but he didn't want to get caught in some deep shit because she passed out. She continued trudging on, ripping herself from his grasp. Her pace slowed because of her body aches. "I said stop." He reached forward and grabbed her arm, sending a splitting pain through her arm. It took all she had not to scream from pain. She only let a whimper out. It didn't take the man long to realize why his grip on her wrist caused her so much pain. "Don't be stupid." His voice echoed through her mind. Sage thrashed to get out of his hold, sending even more pain through her.
"Let me go. I don't even know you," she hissed. He gave a low noise from his throat, not letting her go. "Fine, just let me find her, please. We're about there" He gave up on reasoning with her and just slung her arm over his shoulder. She didn't like the help, but she accepted it, only because she wanted to find Lizzy.
A ripped up tent came into sight. Sage felt her heart sink. What happened? She threw her arm back to her side before running to the tent, opening it,
"Lizzie? Lizzie! LIZZIE!" Sage fell to her knees screaming. This can't be happening. First she lost her brother, then she lost the little girl that felt like a little sister she never had.
"Shut up! Ya gonna attract the walkers!"
"I'm sorry Lizzie... I'm sorry. I love you. Please don't be dead. Please say you got away." Sage searched the ten, finding a knife, a gun, and some ammo missing. That means there is a bit of hope that Lizzie is alive. "There's some weapons missing. That means she got away. Maybe she's still alive."
"Don't get ya hopes up yet." She shot a glare back before collecting her things.
"And her clothes." The man didn't try to argue anymore. She slung the bag over her shoulders and stormed away.
"Where do ya think yer goin?" He asked.
"Away from here," Sage snapped. "Fuck you. I need to find Lizzie." The man slowly caught up to Sage and picked her up, throwing her over his shoulder. Her protests were silent. She pounded on his back, digging her nails into his back as good as she could. She thrashed, tiring herself out.
She felt a shift in her body before she collided with a seat. She grumbled curse words before sinking down. All of her energy was drained. She was weak. She knew she wouldn't be able to put up a fight, or even walk for that matter. All she wanted was Dan and Lizzie back. She needed them back.
An engine purred and the scenery around her raced by. Her vision began to go black, and she felt herself slip into the state of unconsciousness.
(A/N) This is all I have time to type today, sorry. Any who, this chapter will have two parts and may progress slower than usual.
