Her name was Maya, she was a bookworm and socially awkward yet intelligent. She spent her time reading Shakesperean books like Romeo and Juliet and Othello. She never liked the fact of using the internet for unnecessary things like those social networking sites thou she was pressured by many people. Out of her curiosity, she made an account and started updating her profile. Everyone was surprised that a nerd like her would listen to the rants of other people but her only excuse was "to catch up with unassigned homeworks".
One day, while she was searching for her schoolmate's profile, she saw a guy named Riley with his picture of Romeo as a display photo. She was curious on how this guy likes Romeo so much that he made him his photo so she pm'ed him:
Maya: Hi! Are you a Romeo and Juliet fan? :)
Not long after that, she instantly received a reply...
Riley: Hello there. :) yes, I am a huge fan of Shakespeare, actually. Not just Romeo and Juliet. Hahaha. Are you too?
Maya: Rad! Me too. :D nobody appreciates Shakespeare nowadays :( glad to know I have someone to agree with!
Riley: Hahaha. Yeah, I know. :)
As soon as they started replying to each other's messages, Riley added Maya as a friend and continued to talk through chats. Maya never felt the feeling of awkwardness when she talked to Riley. He was like a friend she never had, a friend whom s he had a lot in common. She never judged the fact that she just met him over the internet. She was happy though.
On one of their usual chats, Riley finally asked Maya for her mobile number. Of course, she was shocked because she never knew that he would get her number until now. She let out a big sigh before she gave him her number. For a while, she wondered "He's never gonna text me like all the other guys who asked me number.." she accepted that fact a long time ago.
The next day, an unknown number texted her..
