I woke up in the middle of the night, my eyes not wanting to cooperate with me, leaving me blind on my bed. I brought my hands to my face and forced my eyes open with my fingers, spreading my eyelids apart.
I still couldn't see shit.
It was dark. Really dark. Like, I'm in a goddamn closet dark, but without the small light coming from underneath the crack of the door.
Hehe....I said crack...I sat up on my bed, kicking my blankets off me, and yes I do have multiple blankets, shut up.
I reached over to my bedside table, trying to find the lamp, but goddamn it was dark...
Eventually I found the lamp, now I just have to find the switch...Okay I found it.
I turned on the lamp, the sudden brightness of it causing me to be a different kind of blind. I hissed at the light and squinted my eyes, trying to get my eyes used to it.
Holy cow that's too bright...Ah dang it...
I stood up from my bed, fixing the wedgie my PJ shorts decided to give me, and headed to the door. As I opened the door, I heard my cat meow at me. He was sitting on the mat outside my door, his tail twitching from side to side.
"Goddamn it..."
I said under my breath, I knew what that look meant. He was hungry, and for some reason he never went to whine to someone else for food.
It was always me.This fuckin cat, I swear...
I sigh, surrendering to my feline friend's wishes. I lazily walk down stairs, rubbing my eyes and groaning tiredly.
I walk into the kitchen and see my ma there cookin some porridge.
"Ma? What are ya doin here at night?" I ask, confusion clear on my face.
My ma looked at me. She sighed and said,
"It's 5 pm, Joel...."
I quickly stole a gaze at the clock above the kitchen table.
17.12
.......
"Fuck me...."
