Excitement coursed through Flintpaw as his patrol slunk through the forest, to their right, they could smell the other patrol, but faintly.
Up ahead, they could see the boulders, Windclan warriors lazing on them, laughing at their success.
We'll show them! Flintpaw thought. Infront, Beechclaw raised his tail. the patrol stopped, letting the first attack patrol go up ahead.
Suddenly, Beechclaw's tail lowered, and they were back to stalking through the forest.
Flintpaw's heart beat faster and faster as they crossed the scent line, in the distance, they could hear the yowls and caterwauls of battle. Beechclaw set off in a quick run, keeping low to the ground, the ThunderClan warriors skirted the rocks and Waited for the signal. Slowly, there were yowls of triumph from the Windclan cats.
"Boulderstar!" Yowled Shalestar furiously.
That was it! The signal. With a mighty yowl, Beechclaw surged forward, jumping atop of a boulder in a single bound and tackling a Windclan she-cat.
The rest of the patrol followed, Flintpaw included in scrabbling up the rock and throwing themselves into battle.
Flintpaw found himself facing a pretty, tortoise shell she-cat, she was small, with bright blue eyes.
She swiped for him, catching his muzzle. Flintpaw hissed "Foxheart" As he felt blood trickle into his mouth. But the tortoise shell was running behind him, nipping his back legs, and darting under him again.letting out a yowl of fury, Flintpaw lashed out with his back legs, catching her in the face. She was thrown backwards. Flintpaw whirled, pinning her down, her face to the stone, as his back legs raked down her flanks.
She Yowled, But before Flintpaw could finish, a massive force barrelled into him. Flintpaw felt the wind knocked out of him as he saw a Ginger blur hiss and bite his shoulder. Flintpaw yowled, pain searing up his leg as he struggled, hissing and spitting, managing to land a kick on the ginger apprentice's ribs.
The apprentice stumbled back, coughing. Suddenly, Flintpaw felt a warm presence beside him. Turning, he saw Tanglepaw. "Stay back fox-dung" She hissed. The orange tabby growled and lashed out with his front paws, narrowly missing Flintpaw's ears.
Both Flintpaw and Tanglepaw acted at the same moment, Tanglepaw Lunged, sweeping his legs out from under him, and Flintpaw reared, bringing his paws down hard onto the tom's head.
The tom fell, and with a swift glance around, Flintpaw saw that the battle was still raging.
Looking around, Flintpaw saw Shalestar battling with Boulderstar, the two grey toms seeming to mould into one grey lump, which was tussling quite a lot.
Suddenly, Someone slammed into him. Flintpaw fell onto the cold stone and stared up at his mentor. Someone had kicked Nettlefang so hard that he had barrelled into his own clanmate.
"are you alright?" Nettlefang wheezed. "Fine" Flintpaw meowed.
"Then do the roll, kick and roll move on that black and white tom while a sweep his legs from him, be swift"
Flintpaw did as he was told, The tom wasn't expecting it as Flintpaw Darted underneath him, kicked upwards with all his might, and rolled out again, while Nettlefang Swept his legs from under him.
The tom crashed to the Ground, but Flintpaw didn't see the rest before he saw found himself facing a Ginger she-cat with yellow eyes. Blood was trickling down her head and a snarl was set on her face.
Flintpaw was quite a lot smaller than her, but with the adrenaline of battle thrumming through his veins, He leapt at her.
"Flintpaw, NO!" A voice yowled behind him, however it was too late. The she cat whipped around and kicked him, with strong, muscled legs in the stomach.
Flintpaw was flung backward, He scrabbled at the stones, but couldn't hold on. In the distance, he heard a scream as he fell, and felt his body collide with the rocks below, before blackness came.
