"Max we haven't even thought this through. We haven't even been here an hour and we are going to get kicked out! This is invading someone's privacy, we can't d-" I say to my brother as he cuts me off.
"Relax sis, nothing will happen. I'm just really curious as to who lives here." He said, grabbing on to my hand as he pulls us out of the elevator.
It felt like we were walking for hours, but I guess it was just me freaking out. All of a sudden, we are stopped by the end of the hallway, revealing a door on the left side.
"Here goes nothing.." Max says to me, as he knocks on the door 7 times.
My hands were getting sweaty every millisecond. We were so dead. I knew it. This would be the last of us. No more Max and Cassandra.
About 10 seconds have passed, and still no one.
"Okay, fun times Max! Maybe he's not home? We'll check again tomorrow, we really should get go-"
Im cut off by the sound of the doorknob twisting. My heart started racing so fast that I thought it would beat out of my chest.
The door slowly opened, and in front of us, stood a shirtless man, wearing nothing but grey shorts.
My head shook as I tried to focus on the mans face but my eyes wouldn't move. I was praying to god that he was looking at my brother and not me.
"Hello?" The guy said, as he rubbed his eyes.
"Yo man, sorry, we must have hit the wrong button or something." Max said, not even being able to tell that he was lying. He was a great liar.
"Ah no sweat dude. What's your name?" He asked my brother, in an accent that is all too familiar.
"Max" He replied to him, shaking his hand.
I was still trying to wrap my head around the accent, but it just wouldn't click.
"And who might you be?" He asks me, as I immediately move my eyes up to his.
His bright baby blue coloured eyes sparkled and I fell in love with them. They reminded me of my moms eyes, which almost brought a tear to my eyes.
But do you know what the best part was? I was standing right in front of my favourite hockey player, Alex Galchenyuk.
"I uh.. My uh, my na-name is uh, Cassandra." I managed to get out through my shaky voice.
I had really bad anxiety, which always seem to mess everything up. I can't talk in front of people, I don't like talking to new people, and I always get nervous about what people thought of me. When I was 14, I also had depression, and in junior high, depression and anxiety was never a good match. I constantly worse sweaters, or long sleeve shirts to cover up the scars on my wrists, and I would never go swimming, despite how much I love it. My life was a total mess.
My whole body was trembling as he held out my hand, and i instantly reached mine out to shake it.
"Nice to meet you guys!" He says all smiley. The same smile I adored. "I would love to talk, but unfortunately, I have Gally, Nate and Rosie here, and I was just in the middle of a video game with them."
Sure enough, the Swedish voice called out "HA YOU STUPID FUCKER, I BEAT YOU AGAIN!"
Yep, they were in there.
"Oh dude, sorry to bother you!" Max says to him as he turns a very slight shade of red.
Alex smiles, and chuckles a little bit. "Oh no, don't worry man, it's not a problem whatsoever!"
I feel really relived when he said that, cause the last thing I wanted to happen was for my idol and so much more to hate me. Especially because he is your hero.
"Alright bud, well, we'll see you around sometime!" My brother said as he shakes his hand again.
"Ya ya, for sure! It was nice meeting you two!" He says reaching out for my hand again.
He must have thought I was a creep, cause I was just standing there admiring him, not even saying a word. But I have very good reasons.
I shook his hand, still not speaking, and gave him a little smile.
I hated my smile so much and thought it was the ugliest thing about me. I had such low self esteem all of my life, and there wasn't a single thing that could change that.
I wasn't the skinniest person, that's for sure. I mean, I wasn't big, but I didn't feel comfortable about myself. I never used to fit in anywhere, and I got bullied a lot.
Max and Alex exchange a few more words, and I am brought out of my thoughts when Alex closes the door.
I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding, as Max puts his arm around my shoulder as we walk down the hall, that I'm only now realizing was a couple of feet.

I decide not to freak out in the elevator, because you never know who could be around. I decide to wait until we are back in our room before I let my emotions out.
We step out of the elevator, and see the sign on the wall telling us which way we need to go. We follow the directions, and our room is the very last one on the right. Okay so we made a right out of the elevator, and our room is the last on the right. Perfect.
Max takes the key, and turns it open, and we are amazed by what our eyes are witnessing.
I wasn't even sure that this was an apartment. This was beautiful! It was literally a house, in a building.
The floor was shiny, the counter tops were sparkling, everything was absolutely perfect.
"Woah. This place is fucking awesome!" I say as I take off my shoes.
I make my way towards the kitchen, where the windows are. You can see the beautiful lights of Montreal in the darkness. I was absolutely in love.
I let out a yawn, as I make my way over to the couch that was in the living room.
"Maybe it's a good idea if I wait until tomorrow to explore?" I say to Max as he yawns as well.
"So much for us staying up the whole night!" He says as we both start to laugh.
I take my bags and go to the room which is still on the main floor. The room is stunning, and I flop on the bed.
I pull on my pyjamas and climb into the comfy bed.
I just lay there, looking at the ceiling just thinking about Alex Galchenyuk. Today was certainly a day I wasn't going to forget.
