"I've been looking for you. Got something I'm supposed to deliver, your hands only." A courier said to the broad man. "Who is it from?" The man snapped.
The courier seemed nervous at the question. "I was strictly instructed not to mention the sender, but I believe it was a Pentius Oculatus agent" the courier lied.
The general sighed "What does Maro want now? He already sent his assistant to sign the contracts."
The courier answered "I don't know the answer to that question, General Tullius. Please take the letter."
The man took the letter in a violent gesture and walked away.
He walked against the guard's barracks, the place he used as office.
General Tullius sat down in his chair and opened the letter slowly. The words bothered him on a serious level.'Greetings General Tullius.
I'm sorry to bother you but we, the Emperor and all of Skyrim needs your help.
We have found out that the Dark Brotherhood never actually disbanded. They have laid low all these years but they are coming back, and quickly planning their Grande Entrée. We can't defeat them on our own, we need your help.
I suspect my assistant have something mischievous in her doing, hopefully not connected to the Brotherhood, but I advice you to keep a sharp lookout. You never know who might betray you.
I suggest we schedule a meeting to discuss the matter. We do not have much time, reply to this letter as fast as possible. Thank you.
Commander Maro.'General Tullius was shaken. The Brotherhood had killed his sister, she was corrupt in her duty but did not have to die because of it. He was going to do everything he could to bring down the Brotherhood. The broad man immediately started writing.
'Greetings Commander Maro,
You shall not loose faith, the Brotherhood will fall and not ever rise again. Together we will defeat them.
I will travel to Solitude and discuss the matter with you, I will bring my fastest messenger with me, in case we would need reinforcement.
General Tullius'He was confident but nervous, they would destroy the Brotherhood, but what are they willing to sacrifice?
The broad man stood up again and walked quickly to the courier that waited for instructions.
"Here. Take this to Commander Maro in Solitude. Faster than the fastest. Understand?" Tullius' voice was hard and his request was more of a command. The courier nodded nervously, feeling small. "Good. Now off you go. I can't waste another minute" Tullius growled.
General Tullius was considered angry most of the time. There were rumours saying that he was never happy, which of course wasn't true. Tullius was satisfied with his career and life but he was no patient man. His tough words were only to make sure nobody caused him trouble.
Disrespect and laziness was the only things that could really make him furious.
He was always ready to travel. Especially to Solitude where he usually spent his days. The reason he now lived in Whiterun was to ensure that Jarl Balgruuf wasn't going to join the rebel Stormcloaks.
The civil war has not yet begun, but it sure will. Tullius often thought. The tense pressure on the Empire from the Aldmeri Dominion - the Thalmor - was getting on his nerves.
I hate these damn Thalmor, I'd rather declare war against them instead of the Stormcloaks. Now I have the Brotherhood to worry about too.. This will sure be interesting. Tullius thought as he walked along the streets of Whiterun. He was looking for Rikke, his second in command.
"Guard! Have you seen Rikke?" Tullius demanded. "Yes, General. I saw her enter the Bannered Mare some minutes ago. She's probably still there. And by the way, don't think you'd enchant my sword? Dull old blade can barely cut butter." The guard said. Tullius nodded and then walked quickly against the Bannered Mare. There was a few people inside the inn, but he spotted Rikke immediately. "Rikke, I will go to Solitude. Turns out the Dark Brotherhood is back in town." He informed. She looked at him and answered "Alright General. Go to Solitude, deal with your suppressing matter and I'll deal with Ulfric and the Stormcloaks."
Tullius nodded "Thank you. I have to travel now, farewell"
Send the letter, done. Inform Rikke, done. Fetch Lydia, I will do that. Tullius thought making sure not to forget anything.
