Open Your Eyes

Prologue

"Come on hit her," Anna heard from the crowd. The girl standing in front of Anna had a sneer across her face ready for an insult battle but was not going to hit her.
"Come on Michelle hit her," one of the crowd members yelled. "If you don't hit her I will!"

Anna was done. She was tired of this so she yelled to the crowd member, "Whatever you won't hit me just like Michelle won't because both of you are cowards."

The crowd member, Lacey, pushed through until she was face to face with Anna. "Wanna bet bitch?"
Lacey pushed Anna and her back was to the wall so she stepped forward and pushed Lacey.
"Oh hell no," Lacey said. Then she swung and caught the side of Anna's chin. Anna was furious, so she grabbed Lacey's shirt and laced the fingers of her free hand under her bun and put her forehead and nose against the lockers.
"Teacher," one of the crowd members warned. Lacey and Anna split up and rushed to their classes.
They both thought they were off the hook and no trouble would come their way until after the next class they were both called to the office.

"So, Anna, what happened," asked Mrs. Wallace. Anna truthfully told her the story.

"I did hit her I ain't gonna lie so I will accept the punishment given to me," she ended. She was sentenced to five days in In School Suspension, as was Lacey.
