MIAMI, FL, DESTINY POV

"Hello," I greeted into the phone.

"What's up New York, it's me Jayden."

I giggled, "Jayden, you do know your name popped up when you called."

"Heh, oh yeah."  He cleared his throat causing me to stifle a laugh at his awkwardness.  I've never seen or heard Jayden so nervous.  "Well I was calling to see if you know.  You would like to hang out downtown.  It's not a date.  Well it's not a date if you don't want it to be.  You know it's just two friends hanging out like normal.  Nothing bad about that right? We--"

"Jayden slow down just let me ask my mom."  Just by chance Nicki was walking by my room.  "Nicki come here for a sec please."

"Yes my darling," she answered stepping into the door frame.

"Jayden wanted to know if we could hangout downtown."  Nicki eyes light up with excitement.

"Like a date?"

"Or more like two people hanging out like friends."

"I'm fine with it."

"Jayden she said it's okay."

"Alright, um cool.  See you at one?"

"Yeah sure.  See ya."  I hung up the phone to see Nicki still in the doorway.  She had a big, goofy grin on her face.  "What?"

"You guys like each other," she squealed.

"Nicki we're just friends nothing more," I replied while rolling my eyes.  Why can't she understand that I don't have a crush on Jayden?  A girl and a boy can be just friends.  I don't like Jayden and Jayden doesn't like me.

"Whatever you say...Mrs. Jayden," Nicki teased.  "Anyway what are you going to wear on your date?"

"One, it's not a date.  Two, I'm wearing what I have on.  It's simple."  Nicki's smile immediately disappeared and a stank look washed upon her face.  She looked me up down and frowned deeper.

"How many times do I have to tell you.  We don't---"

"Do basic, blah, blah, blah," I finished off for her.

She rolled her eyes and grabbed my hand leading me to my closet.  "Now I bought you all these new clothes I'm sure we can find something cute for you to wear."  I looked myself over in the mirror while Nicki was raking through my closet.  All I was wearing was camo shorts, a black graphic tee, and vans.  What's so bad about that?  "Aha, this is perfect.  Go shower while I get the flat irons ready.  You're wearing your hair straight today."

"But Nicki I've already took a shower today," I whined.  Growing up I've always hated taking showers and baths.  It seems like every time I take one I miss something important like my favorite t.v show.
